I'm not usually into these things but I noticed two very bright non-stars in the western sky and had to figure out what they were. It turns out that Jupiter and Venus are right next to each other in the sky right now.

Sitting here watching the Dark Knight Rises really makes me want to get a PS4 for Arkham Knight. I don't know how I'm going to hold off.

Just a random name that many seem to think Boston's after. I think they'll do something else because it sure does look strange having back to back picks. That's got trade written all over it. Come on Boston, be the one to make that offer sheet! Further establish the stupidity.
-
I completely forgot that they now have 14 and 15. So maybe they do make a hard push towards Hanifin now. I'm sure there's something more but I will be happy if it does just wind up being ineptitude. Edit: I'd suggest O'Reilly, but I doubt they have the money to make that work.
-
But if they're dead set on someone they have going at, say 16th overall, there's not much we can do to help with that. They probably don't have the time to make one deal and then turn around and make another one to improve on that 21st pick. Too much uncertainty there.
-
That so called dropoff in talent that people keep mentioning is somewhere between 15 and 21 though, isn't it?
-
Maybe they trade all three to move up to #1 and pick Eichel. :P
-
If Hamilton does become a star, the legend of that Bruins Kessel trade will live on forever. They dump him for two draft picks and then dump those two players right before they become superstars.
-
Jacobs runs the league. The league doesn't want to put cap information on the internet. I think I'm on to something here.
-
That seems like a big contract for them to take on, even just for one year. They're fans are going to hate that return with the blue line purge they've had in the last two seasons. In that case, please let this happen.
-
Jankowski somehow involved in that? I picture him being a part of that deal.
-
When I first saw it, it sounded like they were trying to pull people away from that "they're getting the 3rd overall pick" ledge. That looks to be the case now with what was just posted here.
-
That makes it sound like a lateral move to me. With the completely different learning curve for most goalies, Lehner looks to be just an older version of that unproven teenager.
-
This board sure is all over the place today, taking lunacy to a whole new level.
-
Optimistic is an understatement. If I had to label it, I'd say good upside at every position. That's as far as I'm willing to go.

How can you boo a guy that looks like the Scream painting?
-
For whatever reason, it makes me think of when they signed PA Parenteau a few years back. We'll see how quickly he winds up being the guy that we hear about them wanting to dump each season.
-
I'll give you a pass. Thanks to the Kane deal, those two picks are forever tied together in my mind.
-
I've seen some random pictures today from the NBA draft and I now feel completely justified in my hatred of bouncyball.
-
It was the Islander pick that went for Lehner though, wasn't it? This game of trying to trace back trades always winds up getting very trick.
-
I've seen people listing the previous players taken at 21 and using it as a defense of this trade. I'm not a big fan of that approach due to the crap shoot nature of the draft, especially after you get beyond the top 5 or so. As you get deeper into drafts, I prefer to look at a 3-5 pick bubble around your pick to see how it has done historically. So out of random curiosity I decided to look at the most recent guys taken 22nd overall. It sure does paint a different picture than the list of #21 that was posted on here before. Take a look: 2014: Kasperi Kapanen 2013: Emile Poirier 2012: Olli Maatta 2011: Tyler Biggs 2010: Jarred Tinordi 2009: Jordan Schroeder 2008: Jordan Eberle 2007: Max Pacioretty 006: Claude Giroux Yes, this doesn't mean much at all, I just found it interesting.

Why would we buy out a one year deal when we are so low below the cap? Maybe they send him through to Rochester, but that contract is staying on the books.
-
I'm a little confused by the outrage of taking on a $3 million cap hit for one year. That will have no impact on this team whatsoever. I'm not crazy about this, but it has very little to do with Legwand.
-
It's probably a story for another thread, but that Jets deal really doesn't feel like an overpayment to me. This one, yes, but I'm still waiting to see what the official deal will/would be.
-
Am I just making stuff up or wasn't there a little talk last year that we were trying to work out a deal with Legwand?
