Spoiler: No one kicked the soccer ball droid -
Sometimes I need to click on every single page of that NFL power poll slide show just to see what they say about the Bills.

If he makes it clear that he wants to leave and Tampa decides to move him near the deadline, there's a very good chance that someone takes him on as a rental. Tampa will not let him walk for nothing, especially if it looks like they're missing the playoffs. We can come up with a long list of similar trades over the years (Forsberg to Nashville, Hossa to Pittsburgh, Gretzky to St. Louis, etc...). The price is going to drop if it goes right down to the line. It'll still be steep, but if you were a team believed to be on the verge of a cup, wouldn't you at least consider rolling the dice on a run at the whole thing?

I suppose I never had a specific geography class in my school days. Instead it was rolled into that "social studies" label. So maybe it's just the name of the classes that has changed, but I picture something completely different from what most of you are saying when I hear the word geography, something more strict to the actual definition of that word.

You were new to the board and started posting early in the politics thread? Huh, you learn something new every day. I thought you've been around here much longer than that thread.- 223 replies

So are you saying that he should instead disappear into a closet with another unnamed coworker? That's the only type of disappearance that I would expect from a christmas party.

Is the second one you're referring to the whackjob Yuri? I always considered that to be someone's parody account.- 223 replies

It feels like an art class subject as opposed to geography.

My wife has those same 2 weeks as of right now. I'm working Monday, but I'm taking the rest as vacation as well. I was going to take monday too, but we have a Christmas lunch for my main project group that day and you better believe I'm showing up for the free lunch. The timing of this break could not be any better. We have a pain in the ass project ongoing right now that is about to reach a breaking point. The entire staff can only be accused of being incompetent so many times before they lose their mind.

A stupid reaction obviously, but does anyone else thing that question from the homework is just plain strange?

I wouldn't even go as far as to say that part about a favor. If Tampa stays where they are in the standings, shouldn't he want to at least get a shot at the playoffs and a cup that the 2 month rental would give to him? The only reason I can think of for someone to shoot that down is that they are looking forward to that massive contract and don't want to take on the added risk of playing those extra playoff games. If that's the case, it sure does raise a bunch of red flags about someone from a purely hockey point of view.

I also wonder them not getting a contract done is more about Tampa or about Stamkos. Are they not willing to pay him or does he just want to leave? The answer to that question will play a major role in any trade.

Yes, that and if he wasn't trying to cripple Miller. It's the little things.

I get a kick out of the lengths some people will go to with their spam email scams. I was clearing out my spam folder today and I noticed one titled "Subway giftcard - Jared apology". I got a good laugh out of that one.

No one questions them at his level, which is a big part of why he's no longer posting here. Honestly, I'm amazed it took this long. He must have been on the 8 strike program, getting suspended for the same exact thing over and over. People like to complain about the moderation here, but if anything, this is an example of how much room they are willing to give you.- 223 replies

And the way Jenner and Tyutin handled it too. It could have gotten out of hand very quickly if they reacted differently.

Today is the day where my wife gets gifts from her students. One of them gave what apparently is an annual tradition for her family. It was a Red Sox ornament along with a note that money was being donate in her name to a cancer institute in Boston which just so happened to be the same place that treated my father-in-law (who died at this time 2 years ago). I wonder what rolled through that kid's mind as he saw her start to cry after opening it. He probably thought he did something wrong.

That guy was booted like three times. It was hilarious how bad he was at hiding his identity. Each time he came back he'd use his picture as an avatar. It was a different picture each time, but very clearly the same person. Absolutely hilarious. At this point, I don't even remember what he would say that got him on the blocked list, but if nothing else, he should have been banned for the pure stupidity I just described. In other randomness, why is it that at certain gas stations, diesel is around 30 cents more expensive than regular gas, yet at others, it is cheaper than the regular? I don't get it.

The Jets one is so random.

It has to start somewhere. We're probably just spoiled (not the right word) by the fact that every single time we made the playoffs over that 10 or so year span, we were also a superbowl contender. They become associated with each other.

We buy the pretty much the same things each time we're at the store. I have seen the random signs for "buy this and get bonus points", but it's always something stupid like 20 cans of chick peas. The only impulse buy I'll ever make is a bottle of coke at the register (which admittedly is a stupid move). Thank you, I think you finally answered my question. I bought a gift card for my brother while I was there. The receipt didn't give that as my reason, but it had to be it. I'm going to have to keep this in mind for all future gift card purchases. I'll see if they have some signage at the store that mentions the bonus.

Maybe if they tried riding their bikes instead of running...
