  1. You really need to throw that waste of space on your blocked list at this point.
  2. I still wonder why a guy about to negotiate a new contract would even bother with this tournament.
  3. I don't care if I'm pulling a liger, I can't resist:
  4. For some reason, at first I read this as you finally have a functioning kidney. I thought that was an oddly specific complaint.
  5. Ahhh right, I forgot about Johnson. It feels like more of the same though. While it's not a Pittsburgh guy, it is a case of "hey, he was there before". I wish they would just leave out the projected roster part. Listing targets is fine, but you're never going to be able to predict a quarter roster full of trades and free agents, let alone do it for every single team.
  6. I'm glad I got the chance to see them live right after they got back together 5 or 6 years ago (and also a solo Cornell show a couple years earlier). They broke up right around my sophomore year of high school and I wasn't yet into the concert experience at that point.
  7. I like how his entire plan for offseason additions is nothing but guys from Pittsburgh. Hell, even the no name third goalie and low depth defenseman are brought over from there. The whole thing feels very lazy to me.
  8. They need to have Becky become a lesbian and her new wife is Sarah Chalke. I wonder if they're going to be able to bring back the guy from big bang theory (what was his name, David). I can imagine there would be some contractual issues there. But anyway, a brief return for this show feels like a really odd move.
  9. I'm bummed by this one. It seems like he's been posting a lot of social media stuff in recent years related to his daughter. He seemed like a big family man at this stage of his life. I've got Superunknown waiting for me in the car for the drive home later today.
  10. This is a great example of why it drives me mad that a certain group within my neighborhood refuses to ever leave their little street with around 5 homes. You absolutely need to know the people living around you. There's so much to be gained from it.
  11. I don't know what that is. Can I just blame the Flash instead?
  12. So the PS3 was actually around longer? Wow, I would have never guessed that. I assume games just took longer to develop on that platform. Anyway, it's nice to be able to break out the (not so) old PS2 and have no issues other than remembering exactly which plug on the AV plug goes where. I do not miss all the hassles that came along with any of the cartridge based systems. I'll take some slow loading times instead of needing to blow on a game and trying to position it just right (paging inkman, unintentional innuendo alert in the video game thread). Also, I forgot about one major tech advance that came along with the jump to PS3, internal memory. Thank god I threw the old memory cards in the box with the PS2 or else I'd be out of luck with my final fantasy game.
  13. What's the deal with the self-referential posts in this thread? I'm very worried about the state of the space-time continuum.
  14. I'd love to know how much interest they have in that team. I haven't kept up with the revolving door of AHL affiliates, but to have a team in the same city as an NHL team, but then not be their affiliate. It has to be awkward.
  15. That's the first thing that came to mind for me. It feels like a recycling of that Polian story.
  16. I still want them to do the all star game outdoors somewhere. It would be a much better use of that environment instead of an actual game that counts. Unfortunately, now that they're doing 18 of those games a year now, they'll never step back from that kind of cash grab.
  17. Is this board filtering the word fart now?
  18. When I see kids remaking that movie, all I can picture is instead of nazis, it's ISIS guys trying to find and destroy the ark. You said kids from the 80s, so it should be safe from that, but put it in the hands of some more recent kids and we're all in trouble.
  19. Paging the mods: we may need a Pommenstein type filter for this guy.
  20. A headset is one investment I don't feel the need to make. I don't play too often and I'm happy enough with the sound system I have hooked up to my tv. I can definitely see where it has it's advantages, but it's just not worth it to me. VR is in a strange spot. It seems like it is essentially impossible to market it since you can't give people a sneak peak of the action unless they actually have that system already. It's something I'm not interested in for that very reason, I've never actually seen it. Then again, I'm not in their target demographic anyway, the people who will casually walk into a gamestop type store and browse around for an hour. I'd imagine that the stores have something setup to push that hardware now, but I'm the type that only goes if he has a specific game in mind. That sounds about right. I was starting college at that point and waited a year or two to buy one. The quality is better obviously, but as I glance through my stash of old games, I'd say that I have more PS2 games than PS3. That even includes a bunch of PS3 games that I sold (Red Dead Redemption is the first that comes to mind) when I had to replace my system that died. It's probably has a lot to do with the lifetime of the system though. I'm flying by memory here, but the PS2 must have been around longer than the PS3. I'm too lazy to look this up, but every franchise I can think of that I played always had more games on the PS2 than the PS3 (GTA, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear). Not the most scientific way to measure it, but I think it's a safe assumption.
  21. If I was worried about post count, I'd respond to everything with youtube clips.
  22. I'll credit them for including the charts in there. Those were pretty useful. It's amazing how linear the increases have been. That could very easily support the revenue sharing idea if their information would be fleshed out a bit.
  23. I broke out my old PS2 this past week. It wasn't that long ago, but that machine already feels like a dinosaur. It's amazing how something as simple as wireless controllers completely changed things.
  24. Given the current depth chart, this probably sounds like the most ideal/likely scenario. Sure they could go hunting the trade or free agent market, but the blue line is a much bigger concern/priority at this point.
  25. You guys are still talking about this crap?
