  1. I'm pretty sure people just think up these things randomly just to see if someone is stupid enough to try it. Someone with an overactive imagination pieces something together and it floats around on the internet for a while until someone gets bored. It's kind of like the mind-boggling physics you'll find if you search through random urban dictionary entries. On another note, I'm planning on getting my car inspected on friday, but then the check engine light turned on this morning. I can't tell if this is good timing or not.
  2. I don't know if that's the case here. But either way, traffic was just heavy enough that I would only get a short window where I definitely would have had to go over the limit to clear him/her in time. So maybe it was a moving speed trap of some sort, I don't know.
  3. Yesterday I got stuck behind a cop going 60 in a 65 zone if the left lane on the highway. I'd love to know what that guy was doing, but there was no chance in hell that I was going to pass him.
  4. But if they play it every day, it is in fact in their rotation. In general, the demographics for those stations aren't going to have an issue with it, so there's nothing forced about it.
  5. I suppose it's not pandering any more than some other station who might have their own pre-set programming at a specific time. I know 103.3 used to have manditory Metalica at a certain time each day. In both cases, they're playing to their audiences.
  6. Are they viewed as the smart team now? They massively underachieved for over a decade and now finally broke through. I need to see more consistency from them before I hand them that label. Then again, I guess I did just describe consistency with a one year aberration.
  7. It's amazing what they've been able to do with all of their movies. They can't do it as much with the team up movies, but the each stand alone franchise has a distinctly different feel or style than the others (although it does feel like they've moved away from that a bit lately by over-injecting everything with humor). Running with your chip analogy, I like salt and vinegar chips while others might like sour cream and onion instead. The right flavor is out there for most people if they're willing to sample.
  8. I wasn’t crazy about Guardians 2 after my first viewing thanks to over doing the comedy. It has really grown on me. The story about family in there is really good. Tone down Drax a bit and it’s really good.
  9. I read that as “Pixel Shrader” and “Vertex Shrader” and was all ready to tell you to leave me out of this.
  10. This might just be the most confusing exchange ever. It’s like “who’s on first” except not the least bit funny.
  11. If that’s all we have to go on here, this whole conversation is ridiculous. Labeling people as domestic abusers based off of absolutely nothing but some random story you heard from a friend, that’s a slippery slope that lead down an ugly path. Save me it for another day, not this one that is supposed to give some hope to those who are suffering.
  12. I think that whole speech was the perfect example of who he has become. With everything he’s going through right now, he talked more about Hunter than anything else. Those eight years changed him.
  13. Me? If I told people about a team who sold a ton of punter jerseys and that they missed the playoffs for almost 20 straight years, I'm guessing most wouldn't be surprised. They sucked for a very long time. There's no denying that and there's no quest for fault here.
  14. It sums up that era of Bills football perfectly. I'd say they made the perfect choice.
  15. It happened earlier in the week, but I just saw the story now. David Quinn hired former rival BC's associate head coach, Greg Brown (former Sabres draft pick), to the Rags coaching staff. It's a nice parting shot to your top rival. Try to picture coach K agreeing to coach in the NBA and then hiring who was potentially supposed to be the next head coach of UNC, even though they've never worked together. That should make for some interesting banter between the two schools. Crap, I just used a bouncyball analogy.
  16. This might just be the greatest example ever of a summer topic.
  17. My guess is ECHL.
  18. He also signed a few years after Baptiste and Bailey (too lazy to look up whether it was 2 or 3 years earlier). Even if they were maxed out, that cap only goes up over time.
  19. Did each accept their qualifying offer? If that's the case, it shouldn't be quickly labeled as all a part of Botterill's plan. The players have to actually agree to it. So maybe Smith wants a longer contract and it isn't just about what Botterill wants.
  20. It's hard to pin point an exact moment, but it started before McDavid. The recent draftees have been getting to the league right away for a while now. There's obviously going to be a dud draft here or there, but the younger guys making it right away is always going to add to the influx of talent.
  21. Like if a muslim astronaut dies on the international space station. Good luck figuring out that one.
  22. Are there many newer arenas around the league? Admittedly it's a short list, but every AHL arena I've been to falls into the outdated relic category. I'd be curious to see what the modern mid-sized arena looks like. Does it wind up being more like what Pegula built for Penn State? I haven't personally been there but I know the building it's modeled after. I feel like you still run into the restrictions from the roof height there.
  23. I had a feeling it would. I knew it was a bad sign when I looked at theater listings a week after it opened and it wasn't at either of the theaters I go to. Any redeeming qualities at all?
  24. No doubt. Everyone in the league was aware of his background. It was pretty much the first thing anyone said about him as he entered the league. I remember randomly turning on the AHL all star skills competition a few years before that, right as Emery had entered that league. I had no clue who he was, but even at that event, each time he was on screen the announcers were telling his story.
  25. I'd still love to hear what was running through Marty's mind as he left his crease. Knowing him, he was probably singing along with some random song. Were they using street fighting man at that point or did it come along a few years later?
