  1. And then in rare states, the classic "alienation of affection". I had to serve on a jury for one of those two years ago. What an absolute clown show that one was.
  2. My last job absolutely sucked. It had me questioning my choice of careers on a daily basis. Fortunately I've been gone from there for just about 4 years now. It was definitely not the career, it was the company. I should look them up and see if they even exist anymore. The ship was sinking while I was there.
  3. Is "sexual misconduct" even a legal term? It seems like way to broad of a term to have a specific charge attached to it.
  4. How has Vegas always been immune to these laws? I've never actually looked around for that explanation but it has always seemed strange that one state escaped from it. Then again, I'm not a gambler, so I never was interested enough to research it.
  5. I've always wondered why people post his garbage all while admitting it is garbage. Why are you giving him the clicks?
  6. I read all of this and it sounds like ultimately it's insubordination that got him the boot as opposed to all of the rest. That will get you every single time. And you know exactly what you're getting with football. You get 8 games, always on a sunday (pretty much always), scattered across 3 months. Hockey is so much more of a time commitment and the games can be any day. It's a whole different sales pitch. I've always wondered how the average non-corporation season ticket holder manages to make it work. I had enough trouble keeping up with the time commitments of the much shorter college hockey season ticket package.
  7. It's somewhat related to the question. I was ready to let go of the center ice package unless something significant happened. The lottery has me reconsidering that now. Yes, I know the money involved with this decision is at a completely different order of magnitude from the season ticket holders.
  8. Be more skeptical of Dahlin because it's a Sabres board.
  9. That moment when you find a hole in one of your better pair of socks.
  10. Why does it even matter whether wins are quality or not. By the most basic standard out there, they had 9 quality wins last year. With any given season, that is all that matters.
  11. Enrico Polazzo! Enrico Polazzo!
  12. But it gave us the sportscenter clip of Charlie Steiner covering it. For that reason alone, it is the greatest version of the anthem of all time.
  13. But he is one hell of a singer.
  14. But it says you have 3 posts. ;)
  15. It's nice to know that my breaks work. They shouldn't need to be tested by idiots on cell phones who no look run out in front of 65 mph traffic on a 4 lane road, but at least they passed the test.
  16. What if all 4 QBs you're mentioning flop? They still get the axe anyway since they're tied directly to Allen, but all I see right now with every single name is a bunch of uncertainty. Watson was damn good, but I have a hard time expecting anything from a guy coming back from that kind of injury. It's an interesting group though, they're all pretty much starting from scratch at this point.
  17. No, I mean his GM career in general.
  18. Because that worked out so well before. It's nice to know that we won't have the longest playoff drought in the NHL anytime soon.
  19. It may or may not be Sabre draft pick Max Willman. He was listed earlier in the week as being a done deal to transfer to BU. But anyway, Tkachuk could easily change his mind depending on who drafts him. He wouldn't be the first or the last player to do that.
  20. I don't understand why they are doing it before finding a GM. It looks to me like they're signing on the local hero in hopes of pleasing the fans.
  21. I can answer your question with two words: Charlie Sheen
  22. I don't understand the whole "wanting to fight people" anywhere thing. Once you hit 20 or so, you should be way past those days. I can see alcohol fogging up that part of your brain, but even then it is still ridiculous. It was by far the worst thing about beer league hockey in the Boston area (and I'm sure other areas too). We're all adults here, you don't need to punch me in the face because I was within 20 feet of your goalie. It does remind me of my favorite fight moment though. My high school team wound up in a brawl at the end of the game when the other goalie attacked our forward who scored the GWG at the buzzer. For whatever reason, half the players were diving into a pile up, which was pure stupidity. Anyway, I was trying to act as crowd control, pulling people out of that pile. This kid on the other team crosschecks me, throws his stick down and starts screaming "let's go". I ignored him and he made a move towards me. He then stepped on his own stick and fell flat on his ass. I was done with crowd control at that point because I couldn't stop laughing.
  23. I wonder what percentage of people actually follow all of this twitter stuff. We're going to have a higher rate here on this board for obvious reasons, but I do wonder how many of the typical Buffalo News readers will ever see any of this. I'm not a twitter guy, so I only know any of this exists due to this board. Regardless of that though, I get the feeling that these little twitter feuds wind up leading to more people clicking on his stories to see what the hell is going on. Even if they don't read any of it, the clicks are still generated. That's a one time thing, but then you start the next feud and start the process all over again. As long as people like the Kardashians are famous, I'm going to have a hard time believe that this approach doesn't work.
  24. I left it over a year ago, but the wife will share with me the random bits of idiocy like this one. It's a real shame that the page isn't more useful. It could be so much more than it is. We're in a 3 year old new construction neighborhood, so there are so many people who are all in the same boat, new to the area with a lot to learn. Unfortunately it pretty much always turns into an internet connection speed richard measuring contents. The guy in question here was the worst offender. Back when I was in the page, there were multiple occasions where someone would post asking for a recommendation on something like lawn care and this fool would respond by saying "I don't know, but you should get so-and-so as your internet provider". He would do it for every single request and then someone else would chime in propping up that company's competitor. As a side note, I actually do need some concrete patched up. I know who I will turn to for top notch research.
  25. Does it hurt him though? This is an industry that is completely dependent upon getting eyeballs and clicks. That is exactly what all of this comes from all of this. Can it get to the point of alienating the teams? Sure, but until it gets there they gain from it too. Honest question: does anyone actually take someone like Harrington seriously? I feel like maybe 5% of all of these writers/media folks out there have any credibility whatsoever. We're completely flooded with attention everywhere we look. And that will never change as long as people keep soaking it in.
