But is the goathead or is it a blue and gold from his limited emergency call up games?
-
A tribute video for a guy who played on a last place team for 3 years? Why don't we salute the guy standing over the deep fryer while we're at it?

It's a shame that no one has a Biron 00.

For inkman it has to be his calves.

Years from now he'll get a call from a collection agency with a bill for $7.50.
-
Based on his track record, isn't an almost trade actually more successful than an actual trade?
-
But the GM has seemly leaked about 3 different places where he was about to trade him. That's got to be great for the locker room.

Carter Hutton signs with Sabres — $2.75MM x 3 years

It sounds like a polar opposite of anything we saw from Lehner. That definitely lends itself to the change in culture message that is running rampant. -
Someone left a message on the vending machine that says "Vending machine owns me $1.25. -Stephanie office #xxx". Good luck with that. Actually, it's kind of funny that I say "someone" left it. We all know exactly who it is.

That's incredibly lame by BU standards, or most school's standards really. That may as well be a pre-game warmup.

I’m not really sure what the NHL is supposed to do here if they do create a policy, they’re not going to be able to apply it to Voynov without a major legal battle. This whole thing will blow over pretty quickly if no one signs him. I have a hard time picturing anyone knocking down that door.

Message boards aren't a great representation though. The view of this trade winds up being clouded by the stuff that came out on Friday. People were throwing around deals where we pretty much were landing every single prospect in the St. Louis system, along with Parayko and a 25 year old Brett Hull (just imagine the amount of pain we undo with that one). You read all that stuff and it's next to impossible not to think that the deal came up short. Those other board are far more likely to be aware of that chatter. I think it's become very obvious over the years here that this message board is not a good representation of the fanbase as a whole.

They have a boatload of money coming off the cap in two years. I haven't really explored to see if there's anything to that year or if it's just a coincidence. It's still a year short of Dahlin's second contract kicking in. I know no one wants to hear it, but that could be the year they're targeting for things to take off.

And it could take a year or two before he gets to that point. But if the kid does have the good shot that has been mentioned, I want to see it tested. I'm convinced that Jack could put the puck on even a Gerbe-sized stick. Now let's just find someone who can do something with that.

Who was passing to him most of the time? If he does see some time with Eichel, I think it's safe to say that he wasn't seeing that level of passing up to this point.

Every team needs a reserve center.

A good amount of this perception is based off of the media prospect rankings we've seen thrown around. We've got the perfect recent example of how much those things vary from team to team. Take a look at the draft every single year. How many times during the course of just the first round do you hear/read "but that guy was ranked XX picks later"? It's safe to say that those published rankings aren't exactly bible.

What does Botterill do with 3 2019 1st round picks?

I hate making predictions, but I feel very comfortable when I say that I don't expect them to use all 3. -
This moves beyond an NHL-CHL issue at this point. What you're describing becomes an issue for the PA. Why would they have any interest in reducing the rights of the player by adding one more year of team control? And also, we're not talking about the CHL losing 31 random players. We're talking about them losing 31 of their best players. It's hard to imagine that happening without a big drop in talent. Let's not forget that those leagues are also a business just like the NHL is.

I don't know how you could possibly quantify this though.

That was fast. I saw his farewell to the NHL.com gig post this weekend and was wondering what the next step was.

See, I think those conspiracies wind up being the most uniting. That's the rare case where you get to see both sides join up for a good laugh. "You and I may be different, but at least you're not that guy."
-
And they could very well be approaching the point of moving picks to supplement the roster. Time will tell with that. What we shouldn't do is be held accountable for the sins of previous GMs. If he is handed a team that needs a ton of reshuffling, he needs to do exactly that regardless of what just happened a couple years before he got here. All of that is sunk at this point. Sure it sucks for us the fans, but if Botterill seriously believes something needs to be done to make this organization better, he needs to do exactly that. Screw the fans. Turning those picks into Dustin Penner will do that to you.
