From the descriptions in this thread, I'm picturing Allen on his back with his feet in the air, going through the last couple steps that they've been programming into him... sacked before he even had the time to finish dropping back. Starting him sounds like a David Carr waiting to happen.

The thought of a team wearing a jersey from a previous location always feels a bit odd to me. It seems like a slap in the face to the fans from that previous city. They've been talking around here a lot lately about using the Whaler jersey and even playing a preseason game in Hartford. How could the people up there actually want any part of that?

That's too bad. I've never got that warning once before and I get a ton of spam calls. A scammer with a sense of humor would have been a nice change of pace.

I just got a phone call where the caller ID said “Potential Spam”. Does the iPhone actually do this or did I just get a scammer with a sense of humor?

I’m too lazy too look it up did Wilson get less than his qualifying offer would have had to have been? I have a hard time imagining that arbitration was a serious concern with either guy, especially zero NHL experience-Antipin
-
The qualifying offer itself could be a two-way deal, so that wouldn't be something that would stop the team from qualifying him.
-
I'd be curious to see who your list is. My guess is that most, if not all of them will have signed that long term deal before they hit that 28/29 age.

Well at least he's not good at math.

Skating on their top line isn't a large role?

It needs to go beyond just firearm access. A guy his size is a weapon all on his own. Just look at the earlier incident where he was throwing dumbells at the gym. In his current state, it sounds like just about anything can be a weapon.

The league as a whole needs to keep going down this path. The bright colors look so much better.
-
I just saw this story on TSN. saying that the Devils are bringing back their old color scheme for a 3rd jersey. Someone please tell me that they're playing the Wild on Christmas day.

And on top of all the craziness for Incognito right now, you have to also consider the added stress from his father dying.
-
He essentially handed it to the other team. Breaking the plane is great and all when you're at the goal line, but not so much at mid-field.
-
I was at the game in Miami that year where he ran a QB sneak at mid-field and tried to reach the ball out over the line to gain the first down. So either his brain was still scrambled or he was a complete idiot.

It's amazing how quickly and how chaotically he has gone off the rails. I worry that you've set the bar a bit low with that worst case scenario.
-
It can be entertaining though, if you get the right person.

I could see there being some who are as twisted as the girl and would enjoy the whole gameshow aspect of it. But then again, I work with someone who was on the bachelor, so I've been exposed to people who are a bit "different". I really hope that whoever won that little contest immediately told her off. That would be perfect.

I don't really want to watch it on tv, but seeing kids play the games in person is always fun. It might even be more fun listening to some of the overly cutthroat parents in the stands. I was at my nephew's game recently. It was the first year for each kid out there, no one could hit the ball out of the infield, and no one could actually field the ball and throw it to first. Yet somehow, there's still this one father in the stands who is yelling out stuff, praying that his kid wins. It'll probably be trouble when the kid gets a little older, but at that moment, he (the father) was hilariously pathetic.

I'd actually be impressed if he posted the whole story backwards just so that it would read in the correct order. I rarely ever venture over to that blackhole of the internet, so I have no idea if they've changed things so that multiple posts like that would show up in the proper order.

He asked. The morale of the story is that the days of Mike Van Ryn speeding up his free agency rights by jumping to major junior are gone. Yeah, not an issue here, but it's still useful information.
-
I'm not sure what is crazier, that whole scenario or telling the story across 85 posts on twitter.

This morning when I walked downstairs, I was greeted at the front door by a giant grasshopper. As I tried to get it to go out through the door, of course it jumped and immediately flew upstairs. It's not every day that you get to chase a grasshopper around the second floor of your house. I eventually caught it and put it outside. And of course it was still waiting for me on the front porch when I walked out to the car. I was fully expecting that persistent little guy to jump back into the house.

I'm too lazy to look up his info. Basically, with college guys, they retain the rights for 3 or 4 years depending on age and when they entered school. So they still have at least one more year left with him. That mix up always drives us mad. We don't like being called a school that sucks (let's see if someone takes the bait).

You take that back right now!?
