  1. Past hour
  2. Yes, good writing is often behind a paywall. It's very long so.. Bills will be able to use 2024 to evaluate while being competitive but will have significantly more cap flexibility in 2025 especially if they buy out Vonn. Something like 34 million, so if they identify weak spots in the roster this season, they can fix them next. They also will have 5 picks in the top 125 including 3 picks in the top 64. Bills will be retooled and reloaded by fall 25 after bean wisely cleaned up the cap for 25 forward. It goes through all of this in depth by talking about the players and caps at specific spots and where there's the most questions and why.
  3. We really need a šŸæ react for this place.
  4. Whoā€™s the best centre weā€™ve seen brought in by Adams so far in 4 years? Actually asking Krebs?
  5. Paywall, so youā€™re obligated to summarize.
  6. Is someone who is able to take that many steps healthy in the first place? Correlation/causation. The answer is probably in the middle, the so called virtuous cycle.
  7. You're right, it's not good there. It also is fast losing its character. It used to have some pretty cool neighbourhoods to visit. I find they're all a shadow of what they used to be. The tear down everything to build condos has killed the city badly. Replacing what few legacy restaurants and ma & pa stores that are left with chain stores and rando crap restaurants that won't stay open more than a year or two also doesn't help. The other thing I often think about is almost every city has some food and cultural thing they're famous for. Toronto has nothing to call their own. Buffalo on the other hand is known worldwide for their wings, and on a lesser basis, beef on weck. Some will say Toronto has hockey, but I think hockey is much more ingrained in Montreal culture. Other than that, you have a city that's trying super hard to be important on a world stage, but through all the pretentiousness, fails to establish a real identity.
  8. Today
  9. I'm rooting for the Panthers as well, but won't be disappointed if Mitts lifts the Cup.
  10. A lot of the hate we have for the Leafs stems from stuff like this that arenā€™t even on the ice.
  11. Are you asking if an association between steps and mortality is a chicken/egg scenario? Iā€™d say itā€™s pretty clear which one comes first.
  12. On the food side you and I are doing similar stuff. On the activity side I'm doing mostly bicycle riding and "yardio". Get off my lawn and stuff. I've dropped 25 pounds in just under two months.
  13. Anyone see the clip bouncing around Twitter saying that Toronto sees the Core 4 as gods?
  14. I think Stamkos stays in Tampa. Kane is interesting but it depends on what term he wants. Either of those would be good additions. If weā€™re talking about Vegas, I think Stephenson is more likely to hit FA and would be a better addition for Buffalo on what should be a reasonable contract. Iā€™m afraid that if Marchessault hits FA, his Conn Smythe drives up the price. Add to it that heā€™s 3 1/2 years older than Stephenson and I think Stephenson is the better target.
  15. If this were accurate, the guy would be 50 lb. heavier and wearing cargo pants and sandals with socks.
  16. Yeah and Byram is a Stanley Cup champion. They can get a middle 6 centre.
  17. We live in northern Niagara county, right near Lake Ontario. You can see downtown Toronto clearly across the lake, and even coming down the hill Toward Lewiston it is clearly visible. Crystal clear high def hockey night in canada broadcasts with an antenna, no problem getting 590 sports talk out of Toronto...etc. Now I'm not saying Toronto is a worse city than Buffalo..it is many times Bigger, tons of money, etc. But we took a trip to Toronto last weekend, and wow, my wife said she had enough and doesn't want to go back for a long time. Getting around is a nightmare. Downtown is a disaster, on the weekend (not weekday rush hour) we sat and sat and inched up on Lakeshore Blvd just trying to get anywhere near downtown. A bit farther outside the city...you can deal with some traffic on 407 if you want to pay something like $40+ in tolls for a trip across the city. The 401? Mid day (not rush hour), no accidents, yet it was stop and go for MILES, and when you were going it was 20mph (worse than any memories I had of driving on the Cross Bronx expressway). And go to their 'fast' growing areas like Markham and Vaughan (we spent most of our time near in Vaughan or downtown) and you get terrible surface road traffic, and its just strip plaza after strip plaza..then a few big gray warehouses to break up the strip plazas, and then a lot of parking lots and 'floor tile' warehouse/showrooms. Again, I'm not trying to bash Toronto, but my wife grew up in NY city and still visits friends/relatives there, and this trip to Toronto (and the outer parts of the city)...lets just say she doesn't have a high regard to her former home in NY city anymore, but what we saw of 'day to day' living in the GTA I think is even a bit lower.
  18. That Mitts trade is looking worse by the day. Dude is a playoff performer instantly on a good team. Huge hole to fill in the off season.
  19. The Panthers is my "local team" here on east coast Florida. Hoping they win it all.
  20. He might just say he wants a 1-year deal to prove heā€™s the guy from the 2nd half of the season. Heā€™d be betting on himself and if he truly is the 2nd half guy, heā€™s either going to end up ā€œneeding a changeā€ or be very expensive. And with Ruff behind the bench, whoā€™s a big UPL fan btw and will force our D to be better in front of him, Iā€™d bet heā€™s the guy from the 2nd half too.
  21. Do I get any points for getting the province right? šŸ˜„
  22. I would rather trade someone already in our pipeline than trade the 1st rounder. We have a lot of the same thing in our pipeline and I donā€™t see many difference makers. The pick represents a do-over or new direction (or a stab at drafting another Benson). I would move two of Ɩstlund, Rosen, or Kulich if any team has a love affair with them and wants to send us someone decent. In fact, I could be convinced to move all of them. I wouldnā€™t move Savoie unless some really wants to overpay.
  23. https://grantland.com/the-triangle/were-no-1-the-history-of-trading-the-nhls-top-pick/ Here is an article. It happened a lot more in earlier years.
  24. SaskatoonšŸ˜ƒ and yes it has been a great series. Hopefully Moose Jaw can pull out Game 7
  25. I donā€™t get Travis Green to Ottawa at all. Oh Well
