  1. Past hour
  2. I hope they give him some time off so he can focus on his problem. There’s no excuse for this and plain stupid, a kid being in the car too makes a bad situation 100x worse.
  3. Yikes https://x.com/SeanMickey7/status/1966204129497460747?t=n2GPfwk1zsgmHcucbNDhyg&s=19
  4. Good to hear. This could be the year he makes a bigger impact. We really need that if this team is going anywhere.
  5. Yup. And my 3 millennial kids are long gone and out of the house. No more, "Hey Buddy, what are these phone updates and are they any good?" My youngest son always knows if there are ways to shut them off and which updates are useful.
  6. Good point.
  7. Every time they update the software on my phone. I don't need my phone to sort all of my pictures for me and to take them out of the main gallery and throw them into sub galleries. I don't need my phone dialing screen to look different. Where for the past.... I don't know how many years...I swiped up to answer a call and down to reject it.. I don't now need to swipe right to accept it and to simply press a red button to reject it. When I want to attach a picture to a text... I don't need to have my pictures in the bottom 15% of the screen where I now have to select another thing to swipe to open up my gallery further. And this one totally boggles my mind. I open up my contacts but it doesn't show contacts. It shows my call history. There's a tab for contacts. I pressed that and it's selected and it still doesn't show my contacts in alphabetical order. If I want to see my contacts in alphabetical order, I now have to touch my screen three separate times. Basically with each and every update for the phone, it now takes more taps and more swipes to do what I was able to do with less taps and swipes the year before. Maybe I can dig into settings to simplify this or get it back closer to the way it was... But after every time you do an update I should also have to dig through my settings and try to figure out how to fix what you now broke in the name of an upgrade.
  8. I remember the posts about Risto's great off-season workouts. Did it help his game? No! Unless Power spent the off-season working with a positioning coach, I doubt simply getting stronger will make him a better in zone defender.
  9. Big Ed Oliver in a walking boot and on a scooter today. Life in the NFL is brutal, man. (That said, what are the chances that this is a horse-riding injury?)
  10. Today
  11. Dahlin is a very good defensive defenceman, among the top 10 percent in the league by most analytical measures.
  12. Appert has better hair, that’s it. This guy has old school vibes while being in touch with the development game. He seems to really care about his players.
  13. Again, I don't disagree. I did say a "better version of Risto". Without fighting over words we all want him to be better defensively. Stronger and able to defend the front of his own net and not get moved away easily. To the "2" I guess you don't think Dahlin is in that 3 but I'd disagree. While he's better defensively than Power or Byram his strength is still offense and that's his preference. He's an allstar offensive defenseman, he's only a decent defensive defenseman but that's not unusual for most star D men like him in the league.
  14. As the father and coach at times of a youth hockey player who was routinely 5-6 inches taller than others on the ice (until high school) I can attest that size equates to penalties. It just doesn't matter. Smaller kid runs into my son and falls down. Off to the box. My son puts any amount of contact on a kid around the crease and they fall down? off to the box. It's a very real thing. The optics look bad and so refs call penalties because they already get enough crap from parents and don't want more.
  15. Rivet and Peters sure leaning hard lately into the reasons Tuch shouldn’t be signing in Buffalo. A lot of waffling going on there, but they are hugely pro-Tuch and generally seem skeptical about the report in the OP. Their talk all seems pretty calculated to me. I’m just not sure if it’s driven by an agenda of pushing up Tuch’s value before he signs, or setting the stage for his departure. Peters connections to Tuch and more specifically his agent are strong
  16. I’m certainly not suggesting he can or will. I’m mad at myself for even checking in on this site. This team has done nothing to warrant my attention.
  17. If the Sabres had a guy like that there would be an immediate decrease in goals against due to way fewer high danger chances. The biggest danger would be standing in front of the net.

  19. Mrtka boring, Rosen notably thicker and feeling the pressure, Helenius notably cocky in a good way and Leone continues to be one of the most impressive Sabres staffers. 20. Given the guy plays at arms length and rarely seems to lean in or box out, I never considered that comment worth noting. They say a leopard doesnt change his spots. He would need to dramatically change his spots.
  21. I’m never going to find the reference but Owen did mention in an interview that he played physical when he was younger and got called for too many penalties due to his size. Not sure how true that is or if it’s worth noting.
  22. If they had a combined 1500 games more experience, I'd be inclined to agree. They don't though. They are 1,000 games less experienced than the 31st place team.
  23. They changed half of their defense with solid players in their prime. Not players who need to be exceptional, just solid. and they added defensive minded forwards to replace the hoop suckers that will enable the goalies to have an ounce of confidence. And the goalie problem will be resolved that will enable the offense defenseman we already have to actually step up playoffs, beat Toronto, win cup
  24. The lesson of the day is that no matter how many times you check to make sure the nails you're putting in the wall are level, it doesn't matter when the hooks on the back of the picture frame aren't level. I'd say that hopefully the wife won't notice, but she always does. It reminds me of a few years back when I put a big picture of our son up on the wall. I went all out, as scientific as humanly possible, to get that thing level. But as it turned out, no matter how perfectly level it is, it still looks off thanks to the light switch below it that was mounted poorly.
