That's 3/4 and they're playing pretty well. Ellis was great and he seems like a good kid. Easy to root for. Maybe we shouldn't give up on Quinn so fast. After a rough first period, he was outstanding. Achilles injuries can be a bear to come back from for skaters; maybe he's finally coming around. Time will tell. Anyway, a lot of good to take from this one. Keep grinding. On to the next one...

Granted, we need to see much more. But a debut performance with a .92-something S% is as good as you're going to see.

I fear Adams will do the predictable and keep unpredictable and injury prone UPL, and lose Ellis to waivers. Given the way Lyons has played, I’d rather give him the net with Ellis as backup. Let’s see what they can do. They always have Levi in the wings as the heir apparent.

Never. I've already posted months ago. We can give Jarmo credit. But moves like getting a mid-20s top-4 potential D (like Kesselring) and heart-and-soul middle-6 guys like Zucker and Doan should have happened five years ago when they had Eichel and Reinhart. Multiple resources should have been thrown at goalie, not $750k offers. Adams convinced the owner they should rebuild again. To hell with him.

Unfortunately, Quinn can go invisible for weeks. And last season it was through New Year's. But maybe he's finally going to go from inconsistent young player to semi-consistent veteran?

Greenway and Kozak as your 12/13. Geertsen to the minors.

This was a skill based game and the Sabres came out on top. Seeing Ellis win in his debut was awesome.

Thompson and Tuch not producing. SMH. Tuch did provide good screens though. Thompson looks sluggish and lacks attention to detail.

They won with 26, 72, 89 doing nothing on the scoresheet.  Tuch did get himself in front of the net to contribute.  We need the big guns to get going. 
With that said, it’s so nice to get a W with guys like Kozak, Timmins, Doan, Quinn contributing.
Hats off to Ellis. Three huge stops on two breakaways and that two on one post-to-post stop was ten bells.

should be the centre spine until Norris is back.

I like Östlund’s game and Kozak is such a gamer.

Well we saw one game from Ellis.  He was good and he shows poise and mental strength.  I think he needs to work on absorbing the puck more to prevent rebounds and better control the flow of the game.  I need to see more. 

Kozak looks better than Krebs to me.  

Östlund played over 9 minutes, was +2 and had 1 shot, 1 hit, 1 blocked shot.  I have to see more of Östlund  to say he brings more than Krebs, but his ceiling is much higher and I’m pulling for some center help from Rochester this year.

Best all around performance of the season so far. Fun game. Sabres still have lots of good young players with upside. Showed some willingness to mix it up too. Lots to like tonight.
