I just want a lot better.

I'm repeating what I said earlier, but rather than that, I'd almost want Adams and the current front office to stay around a bit longer and things get REALLY bad so it puts more pressure on more drastic moves.

I really see no reason to make just one move and have the team be 'a little' better and have that translate to a mid-80s point season and another year of mediocrity.

I don’t want Adams making any moves

The JJ for Kesselring and Doan was a culture trade. Problem is Sabres make just one of these every couple years and think that will fix everything. Cozens for Norris is another one. Problem is Norris can’t stay healthy and Kesselring is injured too.

It’s not just canning Adams it has to be a clean sweep. The whole group: Adams, Karmanos, Ellis, Ruff, Appert, Wilford.

This team stays with failed leaders and expect a different outcome.

That would be my kind of coaching.

Lindy used to have that edge.

Lindy would have his usual doghouse players he’d bench for showing up with bad hair. Jason Woolley, and Geoff Sanderson come to mind, while his favorites could do no wrong.

Timmy Tin-man, Miro Satan, Richard Smehlik, etc. etc.

Ruff was clueless then, as he is now.

They are the second youngest team in the league this season

It’s Tage. He cannot be the culture setter in the room. IMHO.

20 games tops, and if it’s looking like another playoff -less year, then anyone who has the rot of this team on them and has never won a thing, should be moved along. The problem is our GM will get absolutely torched by his peers.

I think I hate this team more than any of the previous iterations. There's no juice. No exciting new player that I am excited to watch. Just nothing. Some of the least inspired, milquetoast, passive nonsense that gives me no hope for this season to be anything but lost

Adams back, every single coach back, and ending up with $3MM in cap space after seeming to not get equal value in the Peterka trade lead to this off-season being extremely disappointing.

Then not having Kesselring nor Benson available to start the year and losing Norris before the 1st game was over simply compound it.

Lyon actually looking like the Swamp Cat version of himself with all the rest of that, even though it's a pleasant surprise, is simply a waste at this point.

The scary thing is that the plan was thought to possibly be:  promote Adams/Lindy once their contract ends, bring in Jarmo and Appert, etc , ...

Its only two games but it sure seems like the players might be trying to influence another outcome.

Good for them, if so. But does anyone have any reason to think that even by random change the chucklehead silent owner would luck into smart hockey folks? The dim leading the dim isn't working, and Captain Yacht doesn't want anyone who will tell him he's a dunce.

^ This, I would hire DeBoer as a coach

I get it, I do.  It’s just, what if we get someone 'slightly' better, but that causes nothing else to really get changed with the team, the front office, the roster except 'around the edges'?

Granato was an assistant under Krueger. Granato's role as an assistant was to help Krueger install his system and vision for how the team would play. You can’t be more opposite than Granato from Krueger when it comes to a philosophy on how to play hockey. I have no idea if Jason Karmanos would be a good GM. But I also have no reason to think he would simply continue on with the same plan/ideas/vision as Adams. I would prefer Rob Blake, of the experienced people available, but I would take Karmanos over Adams in a second.

The problem is Karmanos is part of this mess. If it is just promoting him than all the other 💩 stays onboard and the Ruff to Appert succession plan stays in tact

Well, of course.  If Karmanos is picked just to be the next guy who won’t rock the boat,  then he wouldn’t be successful.

Here’s the thing: the owner isn’t getting fired.  If it is truly the case that there is no hope under Pegula, then there isn’t much point of us being here, short of habit or masochism. My opinion is that there are GM candidates out there who would simply be better at the job than Adams. Karmanos might be one such person (and might not be). It’s the known vs unknown factor. One way or the other, we are left hoping that some positive confluence of circumstances leads Pegula to hiring the right candidate next time.

I really don't know this version yet but I thin they will absorbed by the past culture of losing.  I thought Norris was a good player whenever we played Ottawa.  I think I could like Kesserlring, Doan, and Danforth.  I think Lyon gives his all.  But any realistic person looks at who came in and knew that  their impact would not be enough.

The power play is still bad, the top 6 is impotent, and Adams focuses on the 4th line and the 6/7/8 defensemen.  The coaches are being ignored.  Lindy can complain afterwards about it, but what is he doing?

The Avs are starting their road trip in Buffalo tomorrow and they will be expecting two points.

Reflection of management.  Coaches.  And the players.

It’s a leadership issue all around.

Dahlin is a talented player who leads by example, but this team needs an alpha male with a strong personality as a co-captain.

Still confounds me Ruff didn’t replace the Assistant Captains. Not a one of them has the right stuff, imo.

Want a jolt? I would strip them all of the A and give an A to Zucker, a guy who isn’t infected by losing and last season’s debacle who has the ice cred to get the attention of the group.

I would love to know the rationale behind the red Xs about Tage. This is the guy that took absolutely no responsibility for sucking when the fans started calling for Donnie's head, and instead decided to stop the post game salute as punishment. That's not a leader.

Why single out Tage?   They all did and Okposo let it go.
