More cap space……hmmmmmm 🤔

$2M here

$3.3M in the Clifton deal

$1M not qualifying JBD

$5.5M in the Peterka trade.

What the hell are they up to?

Stadium overruns. Terry has to pay for all of them.

Please let it be something worth getting excited about.

A Robertson trade

A big middle finger to Drury with a Cuylle offer sheet.

Fresh gunwale wax on the SS Pegula.

another salary dump... for an inconsequential player... a nothing burger... doesnt move our needle one way or the other... and hey... a 6th is not nothing... like a lottery ticket...

Lafferty played a bunch of RW last season --- Doan ($925k) took his job, and Kozak (RFA) outplayed him at center.

That's one possibility.

Remember: He has all the resources he needs.

Guess what the Sabres don't have next year?  Their own second round pick.

That's some quality GM-ing right there.

2026 6th, N/A, Brännström to Europe, Norris, JBD to UFA, Kesselring, Doan, 2026 4th

It's Norris, Doan, Kesselring right now.

Following Beane's example of bringing in guys that are going to be your key backups to just have on year to year deals, so that if you want to keep them you can work a new deal next year and if not they count towards the comp pick calculations.

What's that?  The NHL doesn't have comp picks*? 🤔

D'oh!!!!!!!!!!!

* Except for the very rare 1st round draft pick that refuses to sign an ELC.

Not that I expect them to even be considering dropping an offer sheet, but they have what it takes to go as high as $7M, which would be an overpay for Cuylle, but might be what it would take.

Good. On paper, He looked like a decent fourth liner but it didn't seem to work out. Good to get something for him and good for him to move on.

It's a small, but a good lesson, that sometimes the statistics on paper and even the analytics don't mean much if he doesn't mesh with the coach or the rest of the team.

A good lesson for young Adams

that everyone already knew would backfire. Glad he had to learn it tho

Where does signing him to begin with, rank on his list of worse moves?

why are we acting like moving out bad players he signed is progress

So 2/3rds of the NAK, Lafferty, Malenstyn revamped 4th line that was supposed to help get the team to the playoffs last year is now off the team one year later. I wonder if Malenstyn gets traded later today.

It only serves to show how clueless the GM really is.

What the hell are they up to?

Brock Boesser? Orlov to partner with Dahlin?

The JBD thing has me puzzled.

How is he worse than Bryson?  Anyone have any fancy stats on this?
