We could do a lot worse then Patches on a one year deal

Even Roslovic wouldn’t be bad, but he is prone to the odd stretch of uninspired play

thats why patches makes sense, he clearly still has it. Might be a bit slower, but he still plays the game the right and is still mean and tough, I’d take a shot

Costs nothing but cap space.

Lot of talk that he's made a deal with the Leafs, just waiting for another shoe to drop before they make it official.

That's the trick, we are doubtful to get within 5mil of the cap ceiling so we can go 1 mil + 3mil in production/games played based incentives

 

Plus you can convince Pegula of the possibility he doesn't hit all 3 incentives

Pacioretty will be lucky to get to 40 games during the season.  I wouldn't expect him to be hitting many incentives unless they're so incredibly basic.  But anyway, I'm not interested in him.  I bet he winds up as a PTO somewhere.

39 points across 89 games in the last 3 seasons, and he turns 37 this season.  I'm not sure he's worth much more than league minimum, in which case he might as well just wait to see if he can latch onto a contender for league min.
