Yes, all is well in SabreLand. Quiet, you rabble rousers.

Lance is pro Sabres to the point of being on the payroll. Ending up covering the Bills was probably his aim. Well done.

I used to think this but the last interview with Marek says otherwise.   He is speaking out on some uncomfortable subjects.

Most of what he said in the interview are things we have been saying here.

This is just a bad place to come anymore.  Posters making stuff up with insinuations and no proof.  Start filling in blanks with conjecture.  Then other posters commenting on these made up things, as if they're true statements.

Anyway.  Just wanted to throw my thoughts in the ring.  In the event it resonates with others that don't interrupt the tirades either .

Let me throw my hat in the ring: Why do you think there is so much speculation from the fandom? You don't think that the least communicative organization in the league is a factor as to why there is so much conjecturing about this failed Pegula franchise?  When is the last time that the reticent owner had someone from his PR or hockey staff put out a statement about what this organization is going to do to turn things around. I'm not criticizing the owner for not publicly speaking out because it is evident to everyone that he is not comfortable at public speaking. That's understandable and should be respected. But that doesn't mean that he doesn't have a responsibility to communicate his thoughts (in whatever form he is comfortable with) about his team's dismal performance and what he intends to do to improve the situation.

The Sabres have failed throughout TP's tenure as an owner i.e. a full generation. If he wants to hide behind the veil of silence while being involved in a public venture,  that is his prerogative. But expecting people not to ask questions about what is going on and also speculate about it when there are limited and non-informative responses coming from the franchise, that is in itself unreasonable to expect.

In the year 2025-26 the Sabres are going to have Regier-Ruff riding again aren’t they?😛

If not means Adams is gone (he won’t be), I’d take it in a heartbeat.

I was looking at Rob Blake's history with the Kings.  He was an assistant GM for a few years after their cup seasons. They missed the playoffs in 16-17 and he took over as GM in 17-18.  They had a single season resurgence back into the playoffs, and then started a rebuild in 18-19.  They bottomed out in 19-20 and in the summer of 2020 they drafted Byfield 2nd overall.  They missed the playoffs for one more season (the 2020 covid year), and in the 4 seasons since they have had 99, 104, 99, and 105 points.  He had some misses.  The Turcotte draft and the Dubois trade, being the biggest two. Perhaps in hindsight, Stutzle was the pick over Byfield.  He couldn't get past McDavid and Draisaitl four seasons in a row.

It seems to me that there is some parallel to the moment that the Kings drafted Byfield in 2020 and the moment, under Adams, that the Sabres drafted Power in 2021. I thought I would compare the rosters of the 19-20 Kings and the 2020-21 Sabres, the respective seasons before the Byfield and Power drafts.

Kings        /           Sabres

Kopitar      /          Eichel

Kempe       /         Reinhart

Toffoli          /        Hall

Iafallo           /        Skinner

Vilardi          /        Mittlestadt

Lizotte         /       Cozens

Amadio        /        Thompson

Doughty      /        Dahlin

Roy              /         Montour

Martinez       /        Ristolainen

Walker           /       Miller

Quick            /        Ullmark

Now, consider that one season after bottoming out and drafting Byfield, the Kings had a 99 point season and went on to average 102 points over the next 4. And then, Blake decided it was time to move on to see if someone else could get the Kings over the first round playoff hump. Contrast that with the Sabres. Four seasons after drafting Power we have averaged 82 points per year, we have not made the playoffs, and they are just now apparently getting serious about surrounding Adams with a veteran hockey man to assist him in how he carries out his duties.  Would Adams voluntarily step down to allow another person to take the team to the level of just making the playoffs?  Of course not.  Adams knows that this is likely to be his only job as an NHL executive.  Blake, on the other hand, will have a job with another NHL team as soon as he wants one.

Imagine how different the outlook for the coming seasons would be, if tomorrow it was announced that Kevyn Adams has been relived of his duties and Rob Blake has been hired as GM.

The Sabres are not a serious NHL team.

they have palm trees tho..

Not unreasonable to Pegula he could care less about winning and even less about what we think... we are just the stupid little people he laughs at for still caring.  There can literally be no other explanation for this level of incompetent depravity over and over and over again no one can possibly be that bad at what they do unless they are trying to.

I don't think you quite grasped the message of my post.  The same 10 or so posters (guess), have hijacked SS and made it nearly unbearable.  Take for example your post above.  It's literally the same exact post that's been made dozens upon dozens of times.  You seem to think it's an enlightened post but it's not.

What it is, is boring.  How many times do you think this has to be said?

Here's what you don't get.  I know many people that don't come here anymore because they can't stand the repetitive negative posts.

I remember a time when I came here because there was so much hockey knowledge being discussed.  I didn't grow up playing the game, except street hockey.  So coming here helped me understand a sport I liked from afar but as I got older became my 2nd or 3rd favorite.

TP didn't make SS the way it is.  Hostile posters did.  Every single thread, basically goes down the same exact roads.

Every single season,… goes down the same exact roads.

… and c’mon, be real, if people aren’t coming here, it’s not because of the posters, it’s because of the hockey.

You are the one that missed the core message. This stubborn and obtuse owner destroyed this franchise by the way he has managed it.

The posts by many are repetitious because the owner has not altered the damaging way he has run the franchise.

Isn’t a generation of futility and foolishness enough for you to stop kissing the ring of this self-sabotaging owner?

The bountiful criticisms this obnoxiously stubborn man receives are richly deserved. I’m tired of him and his ownership abnormality. I wish he would get on his big boat and sail away.

But what about Randy Sexton? John Chayka? Doug McLean? Jay Feaster?

Maybe you’re just looking in the wrong pile? 😜

God I hope not, 777 bankrupted almost 6 football teams and the coyotes.    Should stay away from any sports franchise for the rest of his life.

I'd rather have his sister Meghan. She seems smart and well versed in the analytics side.

This response is proof positive you're not capable of seeing what you're doing.  You're a grouch and don't possess the necessary couth to stop ruining it for many others that doesn't agree with your nonsense. You just admitted you don't care that you're having a negative effect on SS with this mindless rant.

So you've posted here nearly 1,500 times per year since 2020 about a team and owner you loathe and he's the idiot? He's stubborn?  He's ignorant?  He owes SS something? He should go away?  Locate a mirror.

Chayka is working or owns ? 777 partners, a sports investments company that is close to bankrupting 6 football teams in Europe alone.

Go back to posting your juvenile eye rolling emojis. It's ridiculous for an inveterate scold like you to call someone a grouch.

This is the last post in which I respond to you. I try not to get involved in name calling but you act like a brat. You are an example of a faux pas tough guy typing away at the computer.  A juvenile response made by an adult ??? is a demonstration of stunted emotional growth.

I have a right to tell you I think you're part of a group of people making SS a negative cauldron.  Many don't love what you're doing.  Never ever tell me I can't voice my opinion too.

It's actually amazing that you're calling for a doubling down on your actions and that I'm to be silent.  Another massive indicator of your totalitarian agenda to make SS only be about what you want it to be.  Then you blame Terry, Kevyn and others for YOUR actions.

Did it really take 5 years for Terry and Kevyn to realize that Kevyn doesn’t know what he is doing?!

That’s rather troubling.

You must be one of the ten who is ruining it for everyone. If only you would be silent, there could be tremendous discussion of all the wonderful things KA and TP have done for the Sabres.

I deleted that post.  I didn't care for how I worded it.  My apologies.

You don't like to call names?  It's literally the majority of your content.

Any chance you could tell us how many years it's been since we've been to the playoffs?  It would be amazing.  Say it like no one knows.  It'll add that special personalized flare.

You don't like the vibe of the board, and blame the folks who have been following the team for sometimes over fifty years for lamenting the disaster that is the Pegula owned Sabres? Too bad. Make a counterargument with specifics as to why TP and KA should not be excoriated for their actions. See if it stands up to scrutiny.
