I know that the Buffalo Sabres are the embarrassment of the league and have been for some time, but I can’t imagine rooting for a team like Toronto. 

Earlier a compilation of Toronto Maple Leafs chokes came up on YouTube for me. It was like 20 minutes long. I forgot about some of them. It’s actually absurd what they’ve been up to the last 15 years.

I remember watching games when helmets were rare.  They only wore them after serious injuries.  Seems crazy in today’s world.

At the Knights-Oilers game last night and VGK deserved what they got. Nobody driving to the net, Edmonton keeping them to the outside and boxing out the middle of the ice in the defensive zone. I couldn’t remember one great chance last night where I said wow, that was a great save by Skinner. They looked like the Sabres not driving to the dirty areas and getting people in front of Skinner. I knew the series was over when they lost both home games to start the series, it’s just too hard to come back and try to win 4 of the next 5 with 3 road games. I thought Vegas did a great job on Connor and Leon in a few of the games but I’m getting frustrated by how no teams ever make either one of their lives difficult. These two need to be hit and hit often and put them in uncomfortable spots! I loved it when Charlie McAvory was going after McDavid at the 4 Nations. You want to beat Edmonton then make these 2 earn their space! It’s just sickening like years ago when teams let Patrick Kane dance around and do whatever he wants without destroying him!

Dallas vs Florida, hoping that Dallas will play tougher on Connor and Leon. Way too many teams don’t physically abuse either of them!

I just think these guys give them way too much respect without making their lives difficult, you want to beat them then you punish them every chance you get, make them earn that space!

I don't think I have ever seen a team playing at home, with the series even at 2-2, and the game still close, just quit like the Toronto Maple Leaves did last night. 

The players quit, the fans quit, the organ player quit, the people generating noise/music quit, I'll bet the beer sales guys quit too.    As soon as they fell two goals behind they quit playing and the fans stopped cheering and that was that.

I was looking at it from the Panthers side and was wowed by their lack of let up late in the 3rd with a huge lead.    Very impressive.  What a culture.

It’s the Leafs, so who cares. I could care less if they ever win the Cup! But maybe we are finding out that Matthews and Marner even as good as they out during the season aren’t the right guys to get them over the hump in the post season. They are your leaders so lead. Or is it that Florida just woke up after they were down 0-2 going back to Florida. I think it’s a bit of both. Florida is a really good team who got to their game in the last 3 games.

I remember Rick Martin's bad concussion... half the team came back with helmets the next game include Perrault...  I think Robert shunned them until he retired...  the last guy on the sabres I remember without a helmet I think was Phil Russell
