So was Rochester the higher seed?  If so, I think I would have picked 2 on the road and then 3 at home. I have to believe I could get a split at Laval and then only need 2 out of 3 at home, no?

Not the higher seed. Laval had the choice of 2,2,1 or 2,3. If 2,2,1 they would start at home. Sometimes it's about conflicts with the arena.

Laval is the #1 overall seed. The Macgregor Kilpatrick trophy winner. The equivalent of the President's trophy in the AHL. Laval got to pick the series format.

I challenge everyone to find a trophy with a more badass name than that.

Two last names? That seems as untrustworthy as someone with two first names.

Amerks sitting for almost 2 weeks between games?? That's crazy!

They really need to do a better job with their scheduling in the AHL, that's a joke.

It’s the AHL, take all the terrible self promotion and scheduling atrocities from the NHL, then Make it worse.

I just always thought the name was funny.

It was and it was controversial as it was the 1st "major" NA sports league championship trophy to be sponsored by & named for a corporate advertiser.

WHA was ahead of its time in that regard.

I appreciate the members here who are knowledgeable about the Amerks and the players. Simple question: Is Kulich the best player/prospect on the team? And is Levi going to soon surpass UPL as our best goalie prospect?

Not sure exactly where you’re aiming on this one.

Luukkonen is a 3-year NHL vet with 8 years in the organization and not a prospect at all.

Levi is a far better prospect than UPL ever was. He was a dominant college goalie and has been a dominant AHL goalie.

UPL had an an excellent 19-year-old year as an OHL MVP and WJC star, but was exceedingly mediocre in the minors, to the point there were regular threads on here with posters calling him a flat-out bust who would never be an NHL goalie.

If you mean will Levi pass him soon on the actual Buffalo depth chart, I think he will, but the Sabres can not count on that happening next year.

They’re goalies, so who know?

Kulich is the best prospect/skater currently on Rochester.

Define prospect for me and I can answer.

Benson

Kulich

Helenius

Östlund

Would be my top 4 under 22

I appreciate your evaluation. When I asked the question it relates to how they would do in the NHL.

As you point out, addressing the goalie issue for next year is probably the most important issue for the GM this off-season. It’s too much of a risk to count on UPL. (As you noted.)
