Was wondering why Johnson had been listed as one of the 7 D on the roster against the BJs and then didn't play.

If it's dtd, expecting (hoping) it can't be too serious.

If they're going to split the G's again with both getting time, am not expecting a W even with it being Detroit's AHL squad primarily too.

They play 6 PS games EVERY year lately.  It's not like this year is a significant aberation with the extra game against Munich.

Forcing STHers to buy tix to the games is pretty bad.  But, if they did the PS at neutral site games, it would be better.

Agree 100%.  Seems like completely backwards in their logic.  But must have something to do with the way the CI and ESPN+ contracts (and their equivalents in CA) are structured that they can't just let those games be viewed outside their local markets.  (Could be something to do with the way the other broadcast contracts are structured, but that seems less likely.)

Yes, I read where Pittsburgh had airplane issues and couldn't make the game vs Red Wings, hence the game was then cancelled. So, Detroit split up their squads for rest of preseason.

No reason other than the league's seeming obsession with trying to avoid the NFL as much as they possibly can.

I for one appreciate the NHL starting the regular season when the players are thoroughly ready to start the season, rather than watching garbage hockey to start it. Six games is perfectly fine.
