  1. Idk what his portfolio looks like. Is the fracking business entirely sold? If so and like 90% of the family's wealth is tied to NFL franchise value, I think I'd be looking to mix it up a little too. The end isn't far away for the big man, and maybe this would allow him to give the kiddos each a big nut to work with on their own for their next 30-40 years. If I'm his kid, I'd like that better than having it all tied to a group decision and complexities of the sports franchise (approvals, blah blah blah).
  2. Leafs are gonna win round 1. They have no choice. Boston is still remarkable run of success, I guess dumb to expect it to end but but but...
  3. Haha....sausage grabbing Mary's too tho. Good times.
  4. Wasn't he dishing two assists per game during last year's amerks playoff run? Vision yadda yadda. Adjustment hasn't gone well I guess but it's not like he's Girgensons.
  5. I'm here, well 3C. Poor man's Derek Roy? I think there's a skilled pest here just waiting to blossom.
  6. I loved what he said about respecting the league, and respecting the game. This to me is it. No more fancy all the time.
  7. On one hand f Detroit on the other -38. It's a no win.
  8. A coworker of mine lives there. Dude is obsessed, playing men's league 3-4 times a week, says the city is all in on hockey. Great rinks, etc. Good stuff.
  9. Yup agreed. He just looks so good. A catalyst. But ya gotta overcome the injuries no doubt.
  10. We don't win many games. Why is that? I suggest it's because Skinner is selfish and plays by his own rules and the team is not as cohesive as they need to be in this extremely competitive league. Art and science here. You have data, I have eye test/what I think the player personalites are. (Admittedly without knowing them, just from observing about 9 hours a week).
  11. I get how it's a home game for TO, makes sense $$$s/#s/recent history. I don't get how not one Sabre dropped the gloves there. Tuch at least came to the defense of Peterka who was headlocked and dragged around like a child, but he still didn't tee off. Such a bad look all around. They did play pretty well though for their standards and just couldn't bury one, but in the end, it's another L and if you drop 30+ games you suck. So you suck.
  12. Felt like 85-90% capacity and I too was surprised by that. Good handful of Devils fans but didn't feel as bad as last year. Buffalo Bisons had a matinee in the cold next door and I'm pretty sure about 6 of their players arrived mid-way through the first in their jerseys in the section a couple down from mine.
  13. Same not gonna over think this one. Crowd was solid tonight, players felt it. Before gwg sabres were buzzing, and crowd were right there behind them. Good game. Nice home W vs a team more desperate than them.
  14. Here. Apathy at this point. Dahlin boneheaded play again completely deflates his team and the crowd. Not one single person spoke to him upon return to bench. No coach suggesting it's unacceptable. No teammate to encourage him. Nothing. "Pucks not going our way" I suspect.
  15. Hopefully Amerks toss out a PTO to someone. Always well received by the ROC fans .
  16. Wait is RIT older than the Sabres? "oldest team in tournament, average age over 23". A: no - Sabres avg is 25.6 years old or thereabouts.
  17. BU 2 RIT 1 after the first period. Streaming on ESPN https://www.espn.com/espnplus/player/_/id/eff5582c-4df6-4151-b777-ecfead7b90d3
  18. From your keyboard to the conference room / phone call where it's being discussed. More I think about it more I say it's ego not money and ego says we stay the course and victory dance in the end "when i finally stopped listening to the good 'ol boy network of NHL (byslma, "hockey heaven" guy, botteril, krueger, etc) and trusted my gut with guys I know (KA), we came out on top. Took a couple years longer than expected, as always, thank you fans for your patience." I will be surprised if there's change.
  19. That's fair but you can see the headlines "pegula misses again" and "who would want that job" staying the course is easier for him. Dude is like 70 when I'm 70 I'm hoping for zero stress. I guess that's the argument for sale, he's not up for the task.
  20. Again I don't disagree with change but can see "if we flip 4 or 5 Ls to Ws (1 last year) we are in" vs firing a friend and good guy, and embarrassingly spending another $20m or whatever it would cost. I too hope the new COO guy is told to operate it cash flow positive and to do so they need a full barn/playoffs and so he says fire the coach.
  21. I support his dismissal. But the answer is easy, the players appear to like him and the price is right.
  22. Addition by subtraction. Buy out asap. Respect the scoring threat, but from the stands it appears something is amiss and he marches to his own drum from time to time. This erodes cohesive unit vibe. The team isn't good enough / league is too competitive to have a guy like that in the core of the team.
  23. Rangers are very easy to dislike right now: #1 their fans are obnoxious #2 their fans interrupt the anthem and think its funny / tradition? #3 drury is gm (screwed us) #4 laviolette is coach (beat us) I'm apathetic about Housley and Peca. And the roster is kinda boring. I guess Trouba is annoying because he seems to have a different sent of rules compared to the Sabres, but that's on the refs. I think of all the playoffs teams they are the ones I wish the least success. Well them and Florida and TB. I've moved on to being in awe of Boston. Incredible run of being good.
