O'Reilly ding one off the cross bar that went so high everyone lost track of it and landed in front of the net... fun game.. But let's take another look at the playoff run of the 05/06 Hurricanes. Before they played us: they probably had some minor injuries, I don't care. That was an unworldly run of good injury luck. Plus, they were going to lose to the Habs in round 1 until Justin Williams high sticked Koivu in the eye costing him the rest of the series. In the west you have a classic offense vs. defense match up and in the east you have two balanced teams with both star power and high level meanness and grit. They should be well matched and thus the hockey close and interesting. There's no underdog here, it's the 4 best left. Edmonton is the weakest and I'd argue Vegas was better than them but that's how match ups go. Vegas Dallas might end up being the best series of all of them when it's all over. This is what I've been asking for a couple of years. We have size and speed, we should be playing a heavy forecheck style for success. We haven't though. I expect some adjustments and maybe a little bit more of a push, but FLA is the better team so far. My prediction of FLA vs Edm is still alive.
