Patrik Rybar has been steller in net for Team Slovakia...might win a Bronze medal.  Don't know much about him, but maybe worth a look if no other NHL team has any rights to him?  Slovakia team coach Craig Ramsey could tell us everything we need to know.  BTW, congrats to Coach Craig Ramsey and GM Miro Satan for Slovakia's first olympic medal!

I doubt anyone has his rights. He is 28.

He played in North America one year, in the AHL.
He had a good showing for starting out as their third string guy.

Good for them, small country but they have been winning a lot of hockey games.

They finally won the gold medal in men’s hockey.

Back in 2006, I really wanted them to get it since I was a huge fan of Teppo Numminen back then.

Everything worked out this time.

Is that rally Slovakia’s first Olympic hockey medal?! That doesn’t seem right.

Slovakia has only competed in the Olympics since '94.  The Canadians, Americans, Russians, Swedes, Czechs, & even the Finns have had deeper talent pools available to them every time except this one.

They don't get credit for all of Czechoslovakia's myriad medals.

Are the Olympics still going on? Asking for a friend.

Nope.  Ended 2 days ago.

The Finns had fun.  Well, most of them.  Apparently 1 cross country skier suffered a rather unusual injury waiting in the cold & wind for his event to start.  But, overall, the Finns did well.

I read about that… That’s an incredible injury! Ouch
