As far as his resume, the hiring manager usually gets that from the job posting portal.  

I have seen this situation a lot and have hired sons/daughters of several employees myself. 

It can and does work in a very big company with no problems.  Since you are in physically close proximity, it is more up to you not getting involved in his workday than anything else. 

If he gets hired chances are he moves to a new project in the first few years and you never see him at work.  

Well, he's getting an interview.

In the saga of my alternate vacation plans and car the cause of injury has been identified.

F'ing rodentia.  Apparently nested up in the undercarriage and had chewed through parts of the main wiring harness which ultimately let go about 2.5 hours into the trip.

So now the question will be... will insurance pay for the $7k repair or will they cut me a check and write the vehicle off?  We shall see!

Damn mice.. but at least insurance covers it.  Comprehensive insurance for the win!

I noticed there was a truck from the Water Department parked out in front of the house. There was a guy working on the water meter. I walked over and asked him what was going on, and he said he was replacing our electronic water meter. Apparently it hasn't been reading correctly since last December, so our water bill was WAY down. The guy from the Water Department said they wouldn't try to back bill or anything since it's on them to make sure the equipment is functioning properly.

The bad news is we'll be paying our fair share again.

In our first house, 25yrs ago, they changed our water meters and back billed us like $3k for underpayment.  That hurt.

Pull some random overseas phone # out of your head and tell them you expect that's likely the best way to reach him?

When they call back again, give them a different random overseas phone # and tell them that THAT's what you expect is likely the best way to reach him.  After 2 or 3 go arounds, they should leave you alone.

I caved and called back. Fighting all my biggest urges, I politely asked her to lose my number. So the harassment angle is the next approach if I get even one more call. 
 

I love how they can get my number but not his. It always amazes me how these contact databases get all messed up. I routinely get mail from infiniti (or one of the car companies, forget which one) at my home address for my other brother. He never lived in this state, yet they somehow put his name on my address.

Databases are weird. 

I just ordered something from a company that I made another purchase from ten years ago, when I lived at another address.  I forgot I ever worked with them before.  I filled out my billing address and delivery address and when they shipped the item, instead of using what was newly entered in my profile, they sent it to my old address.

Interestingly the person who lives at my old address had enough initiative to return the item to sender.  It arrived there (Orchard Park, btw, four miles from my mom's house) Monday.

I sent them emails and called them and hopefully they'll send it to the right address now.

The only thing I can come up with is that my brother had an infiniti and my wife had a nissan.  They're the same company.  For whatever reason infiniti didn't have his address, so they looked up shrader in the database and pulled my address.  If that's the case, that's really dumb.  There's going to be a ton of name overlap out there for the Smiths of the world.

The database is only as good as the integrity of the data.
