Brawndo
Boom!!! @BuffaloSabres #Sabres get a 2014 first round pick if St. Louis makes Western Conference Finals this year or if Miller re-signs with Blues. Holy Crap
shrader
Didn't we have the same exact conference finals condition with St. Louis last year in the Leopold deal (another 2nd round pick or something)?
North Buffalo
I wonder how the language is written out on that one. There must be some hard cutoff on the re-signing due to the timing of the draft. Murray said they got league approval for all of it right before the game. Trettioåtta
Flip this deal is awesome. This Blues team has to get to the conference final...right?? Ott/Miller for 2014 1st, 2014 1st, 2014 2nd, 2015 1st, Carrier, Carrier (Stewart for 1st/Carrier style prospect and Halak for 2nd) That would be some haul. Obviously we are unlikely to trade Stewart for anything other than a good prospect but easier to think of it in this way

Hoss
Lots of chatter about a deal with Uncle Bryan to send Stewart to Ottawa. I have to think Stewart or Moulson end up in Ottawa. I guess the big hold up with anything from Ottawa is that Bryan is probably thinking "Tim knows these prospects better than any. If he wants to bring them to Buffalo they must be the real deal." Get a first from them too and then hope they still miss out on the playoffs. It'll be a low odds pick, but still a few extra percentage points on our odds for #1. I'm very curious about this rebuild attempt now. Load yourself to the gills with draft picks. I'd love to see someone do some research and look for other situations where a team has had this many picks.
