Barenaked Ladies and Sugar Ray also playing there soon. Just saw them in NH. Excellent show.

Is Steven back with BNL?  If so, might try to see them.

Have seen them several times but not since he left the band.

He is not. There is bad blood between Steven and the band. But keyboardist Kevin Hearn sings all of Steven's parts and sounds enough like him to make it all work. Here's the setlist from the show I saw.

Barenaked Ladies Concert Setlist at Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion at Meadowbrook, Gilford on July 12, 2025 | setlist.fm https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/barenaked-ladies/2025/bank-of-new-hampshire-pavilion-at-meadowbrook-gilford-nh-335a0079.html

Saw them at Red Rocks last month. Great show. Agree that Kevin Hearn carries more of the load and is very capable of doing so.

I often make last minute decisions to go to shows, especially if I go on a ticket resale site and see someone dumping one seat cheap. Such was the case with the Pixies in Boston tonight. They are playing the MGM Music Hall which is embedded in Fenway Park, which is also hosting some big country show tonight, so it's going to be a zoo on Lansdowne Street tonight.

Saw The Get Up Kids last night. Playing “Something to write home about” in full. Was most enjoyable.

Man, I remember rocking out to Mass pike and Valentine back In the day!

Just got back from the UK, kicked around for the week but ultimately flew over and saw Tim Minchin in Sheffield, it was an amazing show. So funny and crazy talented on the keys.

Took my wife and her two nieces to Art Park to see Grace Potter tonight.

Good show.  I’m tired. 😴  Bed time for me.

She put on a good show.

Artpark crowds have been bad this year.  They sold 750 tickets for last night. Second show under 1000 this year and two others just made it over 1000

Lots of Canadians that used to go to those shows staying home.

Artpark lineup wasn’t very good overall this year too.  In years where Artpark’s lineup is pretty solid, I know I stay way more interested in their schedule.  When they announced this season’s initial lineup in early Spring I yawned and stopped paying attention.

Yep. Used to have a pile of Canadian money at the end of the night. I don’t think we’ve had any this year.

The line up is pretty bad. Has been going down hill for a few years.

Shania Twain was playing at Darrien Lake last night and that show was sold out so that was part of it.  Still, I thought the small crowd was probably due in part to Canadian’s not coming over.   The people behind us were from Hamilton though.

She put on a very good show, she brought a lot of energy, she talked about Art Park being a special place for own career development.  I felt bad for the small crowd but it made it easy to get in and out and no concession lines was nice.  Still, she deserved a bigger crowd.

I’m betting the Sabres see a similar affect.

Darien Lake’s lineups have been ***** for a few years too.

When I was flying out this week I spent a deal of time in Toronto at the airport, was chatting with some locals and it's really sad to hear their perspective on coming over. Many just aren't, citing hassles at the border and etc... A few even said last time they came across the border patrol was asking their opinions of the political situation and the president, which seems wrong and probably not legal.

I don't think the rest of the country understands how much this crap is hurting the local economy and on a larger scale the economy on a whole.

Add that to the fact that we haven't properly recovered from the pandemic as of yet and here we are.

To keep it back on point, I'm supposed to go see we lost the sea in Cleveland this week (post rock) band

They also announced her show pretty late, doesn’t help with sales. But yeah Shania didn’t help.  It wasn’t even on our schedule. Had to call a bunch of people in because they didn’t know they had to work.

There was an article in the Buffalo News saying the drop is over 30%. Can't blame them one bit. Even I get nervous returning to the US.

It sucks, I grew up in Riverside so I used to go to Canada a few times a week by foot or bicycle as a kiddo. I almost feel like Canada is the same country (at least to me) so it breaks my heart even more with this nonsense.

As a kid I used to cross the bridge and ride my bike to Crystal Beach. The border officer would just wave me in.

Yes, I was a West Sider.  Going to Canada’s was common and easy.  No doubt the Sabres attendance, already mediocre, is going to take a hit.   The people that live close to the boarder on either side are the most affected and that is a big majority of Canadians overall.
