I hope they finish 4th or 5th and play Pittsburgh in the playoffs. If we end up 2nd or 3rd in the conference, which I think we could, the possibility of meeting them in the playoffs would be small (likely the conference final) if the standings end up this way.. However, since I do know this, I'd be more confident if we never faced them. Not that I think that they couldn't beat them, but I would put the odds in the Sens' favor. It was a lot of weird playoff goals that found their way in, and I have trouble believing that experienced defensemen wouldn't have helped enormously. Beat them in the rest of the reg. season games, get more points than they get in the reg. season, and beat them in the playoffs en route to the Finals. I can honestly say that I'm not even remotely watching the standings yet. The games have been fun, we lost a few recently, but won a lot more before that. Actually, they are somewhere between 5 and 11 points back after tonight. We'll seen if the Sabres can take advantage of those three games-in-hand, but they are not (necessarily) worthless.
