The language that seems to be more and more common in public:

-About a month ago, my wife and I were out to eat a quick-service mexican place (kinda like Chipotle but a local one).  We sat in a booth, and right next to us 4 guys (probably 30-40 years old) sat down. No problem, no issue.  I think they worked together...maybe security, maybe corrections, maybe even law enforcement.  Again, no problem..yet.  Then they started talking...one guy, its seemed like every single adjective and adverb was replaced by a version of f**k.  When he talked it was something like..." It was f****n strange.  I got out of my f*****n truck  and I went him and the f*****n door wasn't locked so I f*****n pulled out my f*****n phone to call my wife, and she said everything was f****n OK she was just in the f*****n backyard."   The guy wasn't mad, wasn't angry, but that is just how he talked, about everything.

Now earlier this week it was a little cooler so we were out to eat again, this time we sat outside at a place on picnic tables, and the people next to us, probably a group of 5 or 6 poeple...mix of men and women probably 25-35 years old...and a different guy from above is talking the same way.  Not angry, not talking about an emotional topic...just that is how he talked. And we are right outside on the sidewalk, there are families and little kids going by occasionally, but this is just how he talked.

I'm noticing it more and more often in recent years.  I guess we can complain about things about everyone, but this just seems....out of place and happening more and more often.

I haven’t done a detailed study but Ive made some estimates of what my budget will look like.  I will probably do a trial run of living at that budget for a year or two first before pulling the trigger.

I do plan to do something part time at first.  I have an idea or two in mind.  I have grown quite weary of corporate life and have to actively fight the urge to say “Im done” these days.

I was in the same boat with corporate life, and I was one of the exec's.   I did not want to stain a good career so I moved on.  

Sounds like you are doing the right preparations.

Schuyler County. Doesn’t one plumber want business?? I’ve been without water for ten days at the cottage and it’s a struggle to get help.  I realize this is a first world problem, but dang will someone please return my call?

Expecting you've probably already tried this, but on the offhand chance you haven't will mention it anyway, you might be able to get a general handy man over more readily than a plumber.

Thank you.  Plumbing isn’t necessarily complicated. But I’m ready to write a check to a pro and I’m still struggling.  I’ll tell you this…my 14 year old isn’t going to college just because that’s the next logical step. Either he works toward a career via college or he’s going into the trades.  No reason to go into debt for 100k+ when there’s so much opportunity to do it differently.

Every time they update the software on my phone. 

 I don't need my phone to sort all of my pictures for me and to take them out of the main gallery and throw them into sub galleries. 

I don't need my phone dialing screen to look different. Where for the past.... I don't know how many years...I swiped up to answer a call and down to reject it.. I don't now need to swipe right to accept it and to simply press a red button to reject it. 

When I want to attach a picture to a text... I don't need to have my pictures in the bottom 15% of the screen where I now have to select another thing to swipe to open up my gallery further. 

And this one totally boggles my mind. I open up my contacts but it doesn't show contacts. It shows my call history. There's a tab for contacts. I pressed that and it's selected and it still doesn't show my contacts in alphabetical order. If I want to see my contacts in alphabetical order, I now have to touch my screen three separate times.

Basically with each and every update for the phone, it now takes more taps and more swipes to do what I was able to do with less taps and swipes the year before. 

Maybe I can dig into settings to simplify this or get it back closer to the way it was... But after every time you do an update I should also have to dig through my settings and try to figure out how to fix what you now broke in the name of an upgrade.

Yup.   And my 3 millennial kids are long gone and out of the house.  No more, "Hey Buddy, what are these phone updates and are they any good?"   My youngest son always knows if there are ways to shut them off and which updates are useful.
