  1. So was the BS penalty call on his first shift, but we've always known the ice was tilted.
  2. Well that got a lot harder in a hurry.

  4. I'm gonna wait until he's 85 years old and his brain is mush, then have my future Sabres fan grandson throw him down some stairs.
  5. Oilers fans aren't happy.
  6. I give up. When there's other markets aching for hockey (Seattle, QC, and possibly Hamilton, Markham, and KC), it's seems foolhardy to go this route, but the NHL wants to do the cash grab on the franchise fee, be the first big four in Vegas, and try to grab the casino corporate dollar. I think they think the Vegas population and fan dollars project big over the next 20 years and they want in on the ground-ish floor. In reality, I don't really care. Atlanta starting up and moving has not had one real effect on my life. Nor has the low attendance in Florida, Anaheim, NYI, etc. I'd go watch the Sabres play in Vegas once in a while and help us out number the Las Vegas AcesGamblersHookersDamsHangoversTumbleweeds fans about 3:1.
  7. Some friends from Minnestoga are coming over and we're grillin' out. We'll watch on the DVR (and I'll catch the Bills on DVR later). They know the situation, so they won't be ###### about it.
  8. Keep in mind that over tightening is both a symptom and a cause: For experienced players, over-tightening laces is a sign that your boot is wearing and getting softer, and you might be over-tightening laces to compensate for the lack of support. Consider newer/stiffer skates. For all players, over-tightening laces can reduce blood circulation in your foot, giving your foot a dull achy feeling. These aches tend to onset quickly- within only a few minutes of skating. Loosen them up a little, particularly at the uppermost two or three grommets. If foot aches are sharp/painful or if the dull aches don't occur until later in the game or afterwards, then consider the fit of the skate.
  9. Heroic Highlight Save Immediately Followed By Softy Goal to start in net tomorrow.
  10. Yeah, Enzo went to pat him on the ass at the end of the game and caught him in the hand, so the ref gives him the 10. Problem is, if the rules are strictly interpreted, he could face up to ten games. Although, if that were to happen, he'd likely successfully appeal for fewer. That's elite level tanking though: the team leader in goals eats ten games for about as innocent of a mistake as anyone could possibly make.
  11. He's an Irishman. I'm a Scot and I wore pants.
  12. What if Buffalo never sharted? History will be made.
  13. Can confirm. Goalie I played with yesterday wore a kilt to and from the game.
  14. I just can't bring myself to play a copy and paste NHL with a Sabres roster that I don't want to play with, Maybe a few years in the future, if I decide to go next gen. Still debating for holding out for a PS5 (yet unannounced, maybe 2020).
  15. Shut up. I love you.
  16. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind Sekera, and I understood that he was developing well. But I'm dropping three guys in every group, and he doesn't make the cut, barely, past local boy Marcus Foligno. Similar thing with Regehr and Ehrhoff.
  17. I wonder if Murray's planning on giving him a nine game NHL stint. Theoretically, if his junior team were to be out of playoff contention, he could come here for three weeks before going to Rochester at the conclusion of his junior team's season. I'm not saying that's what's best, but I expect, like last year, we'll see some young call ups near the end of the season.
  18. I sympathize with Rob. He's a heart and soul guy working hard at his new career and he's forced not only to watch his team get beat at every level, he has to try to cheerfully describe/analyze it on television. There's probably something soul-rotting about that. That said, it's probably good for him and when we win the Cup, it'll be that much sweeter for both him and us.
  19. I want to believe that it would be part of the orientation by the front office and/or coaching staffs when new players arrive.
  20. In the same vein, I would surely believe his banner serves as a reminder to players that even great players fall hard if they make the wrong life choices. The reminder literally hangs over their heads.
  21. Hypothesis: The Buffalo Sabres are currently a middle-of-the-road NHL team that's missing a top offensive line. Maths: Sabres score 1.00G/GP (30th), get scored against 3.30 GA/GP (21st). Anaheim Ducks' top line (for example) has totaled 17 goals in the same number of games, or 1.7 G/GP. If Buffalo had such a top line, roughly speaking, that added firepower could see the team scoring 2.70 G/GP, which would be good enough for 15th. Analysis: It makes some intuitive sense: Moulson-Ennis-Stafford, now playing the top line, is about what you could expect a 2nd line on a middle-of-the-road team to be. The rest are 3rd/4th liners (with possible exceptions for Zemgus, etc). This isn't even close to exact, but it's a loose metric for what we need to develop just to get back to average: at least three top line offensive players.
