  1. This is essentially an AHL team. Young kids still learning the game, growing together under a developmental head coach. They're currently at $8mil under the cap floor... lowest in the league. After they sign Dahlin they're still +$20mil under the cap. How is that NOT tanking? I hate it and I don't want to hear about a silver lining or how good some of these kids might turn out. This is a professional team that is supposed to be the class of the sport. It's a sub-standard product and I have no idea why anybody would pay NHL ticket prices to watch an AHL team. This could be an historically bad season, if they don't finish DFL I'll be shocked.
  2. I agree with this. I do believe they tried to sign Ullmark. I also believe they made the correct decision to let him go at that price tag. The best ability is availability. That said, this smells like a team operating under an extremely tight budget. Combined with the fact that nobody willfully wants to play for the organization, it will remain an issue until they can fill the position organically. So, no this isn't a traditional tank... it's a cultural reset of the entire organization.
  3. They'll be so bad this year it will break the spirit of the Dahlins and Cozens... resulting in permanent brain damage. Granato is fired over the Olympic break, KA launched after the season. Dahlin demands a trade. Power refuses to sign after his college season ends. They sign Okposo, Girgensons and Pysyk to one year deals. Eveybody else is either traded or waived. They finish DFL, lose the lottery, draft the russia kid Miroshinchenko, who signs with the KHL. 2022-23 will feature a new GM, new HC, and 18 new roster playes plus one Jack Eichel who is still locked in a stalemate with team doctors facing a second straight season on LTIR.
  4. He's Michael Dell's once removed half nephew in-law.
  5. His priority is getting a sufficient chance to play. If Buffalo provides that opportunity, then I fully expect he'll sign.
  6. That's not how it works. They have absolutely no control over where he's traded to... and KA is standing firm as he should. He's in full control of when and where he gets moved, there is no pressure on him whatsoever.
  7. The problem is he probably would prefer Michigan over Rochester.
  8. It feels like he's said this each of the past 5 years. I love RJ, but IMO it's tough listening to him lately.
  9. Based on what I saw last year, UPL needs more time in Rochester. He's simply not refined enough in his technique. The NHL is not a place to develop a goalie.
  10. Portillo needs atleast two more years at Michigan and then a year in the AHL before even getting a look. No need to rush him.
  11. It was a mistake putting them all the way out in Glendale. They should've built an arena in Scottsdale, or even Tempe/Mesa area.
  12. I like McTavish as a better fit in Buffalo. Zegras is a flashy perimeter player. McTavish plays a north/south aggresive more in your face style.
  13. He probably reads these threads and is like 😒
  14. Cozens should challenge him to a fight day 1 of camp.
  15. My kid saw him riding the teacups at Disneyland yesterday.
