They didn't even come out and say it was onsides, just that "possession" was inconclusive and the call on the ice shiuld stabd... even though they have a clear replay of the entire sequence. So what that tells me is that it's up to the linesmen officiating the game to enforce their own interpretation of "possession" when deciding if a play is offsides.

What's wrong with Quinn?

It's not just about individual development. It's about learning how to win, being in a winning locker room. Understanding the attention to detail required to consistently put your team in a position to win games. If these kids can learn these winning habits at the minor pro level, they have a better chance to carry those same habits with them to Buffalo.

Small sample size, but his save percentage is on par with a quality NHL starter. Encouraging? That can change quickly.

That's not typically called offsides. That said, I have been in situations where they blow it down because of "possession" even though the attacking player didn't touch the puck until his teammate tagged up. I've argued with linesmen about this on more than a few occassions "but I didn't touch it!"... "You had possession!"... blah blah blah... That said it could've gone either way, and IMO in the age of toenail replay that rule should be clarified.

You can see the talent whenever he touches the puck. He wants to turn on the jets every time. He's gonna have to learn to manage the puck better tho, when to slow it down, take what's given instead of forcing the play.

The Ducks are good now. I have low expectations.

Is there a moderately paid goaltender available who is worth his contract? They've gone the cheap route because nothing else is a available. They're not giving up futures for an heroic run to 9th place this season.

Everybody needs to be patient. This team is in a jam because they tried the quick fix route, trading valuable futures for underachieving roster players hoping for a quick turnaround. KA's plan (to build from within) is on schedule, the team is actually playing better than expected (goals for) and the prospects are thriving on their respective clubs, so yeah it's frustrating that goaltending remains an issue after all these years. They have some goalies in the pipeline that should bear some fruit at some point.. but there's no immediate help on the way. This isn't the 90's or early 00's when it was much easier to acquire an NHL level starter. Expansion has severely thinned out the goalie position so it's now more important than ever to draft and develop your own netminders.

So tonight it's gonna be Dell... and.... EBUG? No way UPL gets there by game time.

If he wasn't producing everybody would yelling "BUST! TOLD YOU THEY SHOULDA TAKEN BENIERS!!! blah blah blah Luke Hughes is better!!" In reality he's exceeding expectations and those same folks are now saying "OH HE's ON A SUPER TEAM, HE'S NOT THAT GOOD, HIS TEAM IS PROPPING UP HIS STATS!!!" He could become the first player in history to win World Championship and WJC gold before playing a single game in the NHL. He's an exceptional prospect, let's enjoy the ride.
