  1. Right they must take one and only one player from each team. The total salary of all players they take in the expansion draft must be no less than 60% of the upper salary cap limit from the previous season, which comes out to $43.8m or an average of $1.46m per player. So they need to take some mix of vets and prospects to hit the expansion draft cap floor. What that means for BUF, who knows.
  2. I think they would be a lock for last place in either case. D are hard to come by, not being able to protect half your starters seems a bit extreme.
  3. Let's pretend Moulson manages to maintain his 30-40g scoring pace on a line with O'Reilly and Okposo. What happens when Eichel and Kane return? Do you go Reinhart/Eichel/Kane? But what if Ennis and Reinhart are producing? Put Kane on the 3rd line? i really wish we would've moved Kane for defensive help by this point.
  4. Well that sucks.... so if Bogo automatically takes up a spot, it might behoove GMTM to trade him for anything, just to save that protected spot for somebody else. I'm not a fan of the expansion rules. 7F and 3D (or 8 skaters)? 7Fs is more than half of your 12 F starters, 3D is only half of your defense. Why not 6Fs and 4D?
  5. Is he auto-protected? Meaning he doesn't use one of the protected slots? Or he automatically would use up a spot? Unless something changes drastically throughout the season... the 3D I'd protect are Risto, McCabe, and Kulikov (assuming we plan to resign him). It's just really hard to forecast the expansion draft at this point... so much can and will happen between now and then (trades, Moulson scoring 50g, etc..).
  6. Those guys are a dime a dozen in the minor leagues. He's on the team because they don't want to put guys like Bailey, Baptiste, Nylander, Carrier, etc... on the 4th line. They want those guys playing big minutes in Roch. When this team is ready to contend, that 4th line will look completely different.
  7. Don't give up your season tickets, no way, not now. Sure there are likely some dark days ahead, but it's a long season and it's not inconceivable that they find their way and make a run for a playoff spot. It's only a matter of time before Eichel and Kane are back, and if guys like Moulson are producing they're going to win some games. They've played 5 games, 4 on the road and have only 2 regulation losses... .a bounce here, a bounce there and they could easily be 3-2-0 or better. Don't throw in the towel.
  8. If he scores 30, he's either getting protected, or traded at the deadline. They won't lose a 30g scorer for nothing. I predicted 30g in the bold prediction thread and got lambasted for it... so you better believe you're all going to hear about it when he's lighting the lamp :P
  9. It's amazing. The macho nachos are outrageous... Think Mighty Taco on steroids.
  10. I can't remember where I saw it but apparently Anaheim has Lindholm on the block.... not Fowler. They would likely get a higher return and save money by doing so. And they also have Thedore waiting in the wings.
  11. It would be understandable if it was somebody like McCabe who can lug the mail if needed, but Gorges? To me thats a sign Bylsma doesnt trust Risto on his own in the d-zone if they lose possession off the draw.
  12. I think we're all just expecting too much from this team. Even with Eichel and Kane, they're not a playoff team yet. For two periods they took it to the Flyers. They'll get better, we just need to be patient. 4 points on a 4 game road trip isn't terrible. Only 1 regulation loss.
  13. ...back to $2200.. unfortunately
  14. IIRC they wouldve saved $2.5mil/yr.. but I could be wrong.
  15. Haha kinda explains why Reinhart is off to a slow start.
  16. You have to give GMTM credit here. Most GMs would've bought him out and moved on. I look at this as key FA signing this past offseason... he's a completely different player.
  17. 4 goals on 15 shots 27%... just doing what he does.
  18. Please do! And I'll post his shooting statistics.
  19. Vegas is going to love this guy! (am I doing this right?)
  20. Hes in the 3rd year of a 5 year deal. 2 more years isn't unreasonable at his age.
  21. He'll be a bargain at $5mil if he keeps playing like this. You'd even have to consider protecting him... but I'm not having that argument again.
