The higher up the ranks to you get in hockey, the less of the rah rah type speeches you hear from coaches. If you've reached the NHL level it's because you're extremely self-motivated. The pre-game stuff is very technical, systems are discussed, video review... it's all very cerebral.

Both Pegula franchises have a poor track record when it comes to clearing their respective athletes of injury. You would think both teams would have the best training staff and medical professionals available, but recent history would suggest otherwise.

Are they allowed to be sent back? I guess they would have to be... or is there some number of games where their rookie deal kicks in as under normal conditions?

Eichel is more powerful, but McDavid has quickness and suddenness the game simply has never seen before.

It's not allowed. He can come up only after his junior season is over. That said Pu is a nice prospect, but I don't see him as a future NHL player.... maybe a depth guy but nothing more.

You can absolutely put a different goalie in for shootouts. Buffalo did it with Ryan Miller a few times because he has such a good shootout record. Makes you wonder if there will ever be a shootout specialist goalie who only ever practices shootouts etc. Hockey's version of a closer if you will.

If they get Eichel back and still struggle to score then let the countdown begin. IMO they'll break out of this scoring funk when he returns to the lineup. Sure, he's one guy, but on this team he's so much better than the 3rd center that he really does make that much difference.

RAV - Roy, Afinogenov, Vanek line that lit up the scoreboard in 06-07 I think or the year before... anyway it was I think our second or third line that showed so much promise only to be dismantled by Lindy being Lindy.
