Who are the clowns making the NHL schedule? We play WSH 3 times over an 82 game season, and all 3 games occur within a 14 day timespan.

There's just not enough team speed on the back-end with him in the lineup. Franson alone drags down the entire scheme, but he's been playing OK of late... still to slow tho. I actually wouldn't mind to see Des back in the lineup for Grant. Des brings some tenacity we're currently lacking... he seems like a good locker room guy too, he gets them going. That said you need to leave Carrier in the lineup, he's been great. They fill two different roles anyway.

I don't know about that... normally when you're not confident in your goalie you feel like you can't let the other team shoot, so your coverage is tighter in your zone. Although I see your point about rebounds... if he's making the initial save but leaving pucks by the crease, then yeah you'll need to collapse.

I disagree... strongly. I don't miss the cold/snow one bit.

That sucks for them, Galchenyuk was having a great season. I like him as a player he's going to be a pain in our side for many years.

Nilsson gets the weaker opponent on back-to-backs, so naturally he has a better winning % than Lehner (and more goal support). However, Lehner's performance in shootouts is a major concern.

Risto has been good, I'm happy with his development this season. However.. (here it comes, haha).... he is still a minus player (-5). He's a -5 through about 1/3 of the season which puts him in the -15 range for the year, which is a slight improvement from -21 a year ago. He still gets panicky when things break down around his own net, and doesn't make the best decisions with the puck when under pressure. I'm hoping those things improve with experience. I will say that his skating looks better this season, he's more explosive and quicker getting on pucks. He uses his large frame well to shield off defenders.

Strange, I saw a completely different game. I thought O'Reilly struggled, he didn't generate much and wasn't very good on the forecheck like he usually is. He's been invisible the last few games. Okposo was OK I guess, but his puck possession wasn't very good. I thought Eichel was fine even with the tweaked ankle... Reinhart wasn't that great again. I thought Kane was OK, he was buzzing around the net and getting in on the forecheck which is what he does best. I liked Carrier's game again, he seems to be getting better every game, his + skating was noticeable and made a difference causing turnovers. Didn't like Foligno or Larsson's game, too many turnovers, too slow, poor hockey IQ.

Man, it really sucks going into a game where you have less than a zero percent chance of winning. I thought those days were over. The Bills video was a nice touch, but after that weekend I really didn't need to relive the Bills Super Bowl losses. We need a Moulson Miracle tonight tin DC.

Agreed. But we need something to talk about. He still looks skinny to me, anybody know what he weighed in at camp? I really hope he goes back to junior (he's on a top team now) but if he continues to play well, we may not have a choice.

Guys like Fedun, Falk, Grant, Nilsson, Guhle, etc. make me feel better about GMTMs talent analysis. And he needs to hit on some 2nd and 3rd rounders to take this franchise to the next level... but those guys usually take few more years to develop.

He reminds me a lot of Fowler when he came into the league as a fast skating skinny kid.

I like Marchand, he's the type you hate to play against but you love him on your squad. He's not a dirty player. Risto and some others seemed more concerned with Marchand than the game itself which is what a pest is supposed to do.
