  1. Risto has been good, I'm happy with his development this season. However.. (here it comes, haha).... he is still a minus player (-5). He's a -5 through about 1/3 of the season which puts him in the -15 range for the year, which is a slight improvement from -21 a year ago. He still gets panicky when things break down around his own net, and doesn't make the best decisions with the puck when under pressure. I'm hoping those things improve with experience. I will say that his skating looks better this season, he's more explosive and quicker getting on pucks. He uses his large frame well to shield off defenders.
  2. Strange, I saw a completely different game. I thought O'Reilly struggled, he didn't generate much and wasn't very good on the forecheck like he usually is. He's been invisible the last few games. Okposo was OK I guess, but his puck possession wasn't very good. I thought Eichel was fine even with the tweaked ankle... Reinhart wasn't that great again. I thought Kane was OK, he was buzzing around the net and getting in on the forecheck which is what he does best. I liked Carrier's game again, he seems to be getting better every game, his + skating was noticeable and made a difference causing turnovers. Didn't like Foligno or Larsson's game, too many turnovers, too slow, poor hockey IQ.

  6. Man, it really sucks going into a game where you have less than a zero percent chance of winning. I thought those days were over. The Bills video was a nice touch, but after that weekend I really didn't need to relive the Bills Super Bowl losses. We need a Moulson Miracle tonight tin DC.

  8. Agreed. But we need something to talk about. He still looks skinny to me, anybody know what he weighed in at camp? I really hope he goes back to junior (he's on a top team now) but if he continues to play well, we may not have a choice.
  9. Guys like Fedun, Falk, Grant, Nilsson, Guhle, etc. make me feel better about GMTMs talent analysis. And he needs to hit on some 2nd and 3rd rounders to take this franchise to the next level... but those guys usually take few more years to develop.
  10. He reminds me a lot of Fowler when he came into the league as a fast skating skinny kid.
  11. I like Marchand, he's the type you hate to play against but you love him on your squad. He's not a dirty player. Risto and some others seemed more concerned with Marchand than the game itself which is what a pest is supposed to do.

  18. Hunter got a 3 game suspension for knocking out Ramsey's teeth IIRC. And then later in his career he hit Turgeon after he scored in the playoffs, separating his shoulder for which he got 21 game suspension. What a piece of that guy was... makes Shaw look like a saint. I miss the emotion of old school hockey, guys legit hated each other and tried to hurt each other in fights. None of this from friendly pat on the back after a fight .

  23. The only thing Vesey did wrong was act like a little bitch throughout the entire process. The fact that BUF gave up a third to try and court him and yet he choose somewhere else even after a Pegula presentation was a choice he made, and it's why fans in Buffalo should boo the out of him every time he touches the puck. It's fun and we have an excuse to do it. I said it months ago, this is a similar thing that happened to Justin Schultz in ANA over 4 years ago and the Honda Center still erupts with boos every time he touches the puck in that building.
