    1st - BUF comes out strong for the first 10-min, scoring 2 goals, then fade late in the period giving up a goal in the final minute. 2-1 BUF 2nd - BUF stays in the lockerroom and sends Lehner out by himself, who gives up 2 second period goals on 65 shots. 3-2 ARI 3rd - BUF finally decides to take the ice for the 3rd, scoring in the final 5-min to tie it up 3-3. OT - BUF dominates getting 20 shots on Smith in the first 2 min of OT. Seeing eye shot from OEL beats Lehner high glove. 4-3 ARI

    Dwight King from LAK to MTL for a 4th. King is a nice 3rd/4th line piece, he's a big body and uses it on the forecheck to create turnovers. Him and Ott together should help their checking game.

    They need to go 14-3-2 to have a >50% chance of getting in. TOR chances dropped a whopping 10% down to 55% with their loss at SJS last night accompanied by BOS and FLA winning.

    FLA giving up a 3rd for a rental when they're not even in a playoff position is just dumb IMO. That's not how you build a team.

    IMO Fasching will eventually be the best player in that deal, although it would've been nice to have McNabb in the lineup the last couple seasons.

    I'm going to say none of them. The top 6 are not going anywhere. The bottom 6 are untradeable. Same can be said for the defense. IMO all trade worthy assests have already been moved so they're stuck with 40% of their cap tied up in 6 untradeable contracts.

    Everybody fretting about Matthews needs to understand this.... he's at his peak right now. It's all downhill from here folks, and once his ELC expires and he signs a max deal, he'll regress even more.

    True. And consider this.... About 40% of the Sabres cap is tied up in 6 players; Moulson, Gionta, Ennis, Kulikov, Gorges and Bogosian... that's about $28mil. $28mil/yr for a total of 30 goals, 70 points and a -40 on the ledger. That's a beautiful tank squad.

    This team is closer than most people think. The bottom six need an upgrade. That's easy to do. The defense needs some work tho, which might be another few seasons, but a few moves should put this team near the top of the Atlantic next season.

    Having level 4 USA Hockey coaching certification, any physical contact with any player is extremely frowned upon. We're talking min 30 day suspension, and the Jr Sabres most likely permanently relieve him of his coaching duties.
