He's found some chemistry on new line with Charlie Coyle.

GDT GDT: Anaheim at Buffalo 7:00 pm ET, 2/9/2017

I'll make a prediction. Believe me, ANA already knows Kane and Girgensons inside and out. This game will do very little to tilt the scales. (source: I have a friend inside the Ducks organization) -

Other than Bylsma this season? ummmmm.....

I broke my wrist doing the same thing, right hand got pinned between the boards, ice, and my body as I hit the boards. Didn't feel like much until I took my glove off and my wrist was crooked. We probably won't find out his status until tomorrow because they don't practice today. However, if it was broken I doubt he'd be giving interviews after the game, he'd have gone to the x-ray room. I'm sure he's fine.

It almost looks like he's attacking the puck when it's shot at him. Instead of letting the puck come to him and absorbing it, he's kicking or punching at it. Like that shot that bounced out of his glove in NJ... he was slapping his glove at the puck. Most goalies would let the puck hit their glove and catch it, instead he slaps his glove towards the puck.. which is bad technique if you're trying to prevent rebounds. You'd think that would correctable, but I haven't noticed an improvement throughout the season.

Bogosian Both in the minus teens this season with little offensive production to speak of. You don't improve a team with a -20 goal differential by adding a defenseman who is a -19 in 48 games. That's going in the wrong direction.
-
Firing Bylsma at this point in time would be a mistake. He's a good teacher, the young guns are improving under his tutelage. I don't think he's the long term answer, but he's what this team needs right now. I'd give him another season, with the young guys taking another step and guys like Guhle replacing Gorges, maybe Nylander makes an impact, etc.. this team should be in the playoff mix from the get go. You've all seen it, when this team plays with a purpose, they're very good and can compete with the top teams. The players know it, the speak of it often. You don't hear them say anything negative about the system they're being asked to play.

You think Bylsma will let him loose? He only has 4 goals this season, and is a liability in his own end. Sounds like he'd be a perfect fit.

Deadline Nearly Here! What is GMTM going to do?
pi2000 replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
IMO there is a minute chance Ullmark gets picked in the draft considering one or more of Girgensons, Larsson, Gionta, Ennis, Foligno, Moulson, Bogosian will be made available. My money would be on Girgensons or Larsson. I really hope they don't protect Larsson, they don't miss him at all since he's been out... you could argue offensive production from the 3rd line has improved since he's been out. -
Ghost is the next Marc-Andre Gragnani. He's an absolute mess defensively. If you teach him to play D properly his offensive production (what little he's had this year) will decline, and he's small... no thank you. You put him on this Sabres team and you're just asking for trouble.

I'm confident Eichel will get there. I don't think he realizes yet just how dominate he can be given his natural abilities. We see glimpses of it, but not consistently shift by shift.

Does anybody on this team know how to block a shot? Every point shot is getting through on the net. -

hahhaha yeah, finally on the fortunate end of those calls. Boedker. Why didn't we sign him when we had the chance? -

What a snipe by our holiness... filthy. -
I won't hold it against him either, but this showdown thing is for the fans to showcase players talents. They try on the accuracy and hardest shot contest, but the breakaway challenge is just dumb... Biron? really? They could score everytime if they really wanted to. Maybe do a timed stickhandling drill or passing into the mini-nets maybe? Anyway, back to Eichel, yes, I see his an improvement in his effort level away from the puck, but he has lapses where he just doesn't look interested, or frustrated, or completely lost in his own end... he'll be out there for 20-30s then casually skate to the bench for a line change with body language that says "I give up, this is just too much" while the rest of his linemates are finishing the shift.

GDT GDT - Sabres at New Jersey - February 6, 2017 7:00 PM

...and their shot blocking in general is abysmal. I'd love to see a season long stat of net shot blocks... like a PDO shot block statistics because it seems more than half the time our d-men shoot the puck it gets blocked, but very rarely do any of our forwards block opposing shots from the point. Coaching? Inexperience maybe? Lehner asking to see the puck? I don't know, but it seems like something they need to focus on.... and on that same topic, remember early in the season when Risto would walk the line and fire a low quick wrister through to the net? He doesn't do that anymore, haven't seen it for months. -
It's just a big joke to him. I question his competitiveness at times... he mails it in some shifts too and it's noticeable, always the first off the ice on a line change it seems too.
