  1. fwd to the 1min mark... Bettman basically says no to any changes and doesn't even answer the follow-up question.
  2. 7 goals and a +4 in 41 Swedish Elite League games doesn't scream generational talent to me. Former Amerk, Matt Donovan, had more points than him on the same team.
  3. The top two teams (by points) in each conference are playing each other in the quarterfinals.... that's nonsense.
  4. Man I loved that team... Grosek, Boughner, Warrener, Ward, Peca... that was fun hockey.
  5. Don't get me wrong, I would take him first all day long.... but watching him play I don't think he's going to be as good as some forecast. I don't think a guy like that really moves the needle much on a team like Buffalo.
  6. I'm not guaranteeing he's to be any good, in fact I would prefer they draft somebody else. But if they decide to draft him, I'll trust their that their evaluation is more thorough than your's or mine could possibly be. To completely write him off at this point of his career is simply being shortsighted. He's a unique talent, you can't teach that arm, and he sounds like a smart kid and loves the game... but that's only from what I've seen. GMs/scouts have talked to all his coaches, college, high school, junior college, teammates, trainers, etc... they've turned over every stone... stones that we can't get to. So if they decide he's their guy, then I'll trust they've done their homework. And if does become a bust in a few years, then so be it, but there's no guarantee Rosen pans out either... what if suffers a handful of concussions in his first couple seasons? Will his shoulder hold up? Will his teammates accept him in the lockerroom? Who knows.
  7. I honestly don't care if they get Dahlin. He's not a can't miss prospect.... nobody is at that age. And one player isn't going to change the culture on this team.
  8. Some people who make a living scouting college quarterbacks would disagree. But you've seen some YouTube videos, I get it.
  9. ...because you have access to more information on Allen than they do. Sure.
  10. How about we launch guys like Larsson, Pouliot, Girgensons, Nolan, etc... before we start talking about moving ROR. I don't understand how trading ROR will make the Larsson and Girgensons more productive.
  11. ..and so it begins. @FAN590: #GoodShow: Did Auston Matthews play enough in the first round? Could that create a rift between him and head coach Mike Babcock? @MattBarnaby3636 weighs in with @SportsnetBen & @JDBunkis. #BestInShow #TMLTalk https://twitter.com/FAN590/status/989587326904012802/video/1 http://www.sportingnews.com/ca/nhl/news/nhl-playoffs-2018-toronto-maple-leafs-mike-babcock-auston-matthews-trust-issues-first-round-boston-bruins-game-7/tz6zuglbdt1l1lchom7ascoc7
  12. I love it. In the age of information all we're getting is disinformation. The GMs have figured out how to manipulate social media and keep us civilians guessing.
  13. Folks defending Larsson... my God... watch the Knights 4th line, or Boston's, or any other team for that matter. Larsson is not an NHL player. He doesn't score, can't pass, has no offensive awareness, can't handle the puck. Everybody says he's a pest, big deal, I could be a pest out there too and put up better numbers by accident.
  14. I want Dell from SJS.
  15. I don't think BUF is that far off. They lost 33 games by one goal. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater would be a huge mistake. There is talent there... Housley needs to be better, goaltending needs to be better... young guys need to take that step with consistency. Leftovers poisoned by the tank years need to be shipped out... Larsson, Girgensons, maybe even Risto.. None of them respond well to adversity.
  16. brutal
  17. Then you have a league where teams become dynasties because they got lucky, while other teams suffer for decades. Just get rid of the lottery, done deal. It worked for the NHL for over 100 years. You'd have maybe 1 or 2 teams tank a couple times a decade when generational talent comes along. Big deal. Today you have a dozen teams trying to out-tank each other every year, just to increase their lottery odds. Stupid.
  18. There's also one who likes to stare down the other sideline while he fellates himself.
  19. There is also one QB in this group who suffered multiple concussions last season and missed some time. Buyer beware!
  20. We have no clue how Olofsson will pan out. Stick him Roch until he proves he's too good for that league... if that ever happens who knows... but the more of these guys in the system the better... eventually they will hit.
  21. You're the Indianapolis Colts and Saquan Barkley is a generational talent at RB... you win the lottery, you take Barkley. You're Buffalo... a stud C is in the draft, but there are 4 stud defensemen slotted right behind him. BUF wins the lottery... you strongly consider a trade back. But anyway, why does that change the fact that a lottery is good idea or not?
  22. Why does the number of unique positions change how the draft should be set up?
  23. The hype train for this draft is out of control. These QBs really aren't that great, but they have all the fans salivating because the media wants everybody to tune in Thurs night to see which "franchise" QB their team ends up with. I wouldn't be surprised if only 3 QBs go in the first round.. with guys "dropping" like stones left and right because the GMs know there are much better players available at other positions.
  24. The highest revenue grossing league in the world doesn't use a lottery. Never has, and it's worked out quite well for them. The NHL is such a garage league they needed to fix something that didn't need fixing and now here we are, with a generational talent wasting away on team that gets no airtime in the US. And now this dumb lottery presentation scheme. It pisses me off the more I think about it. If a team wants to tank and risk alienating their fanbase to be able to draft an 18 year old kid, then let them do it... there's nothing wrong it. If anything, the lottery encourages more teams to tank, because as you drop in the standings you're chances at #1 overall improve... so everybody is trying to out-tank eachother.
  25. "hurt" Ullmark needed to stay in Roch the entire season. The only reason they should've called him up was to start games in BUF. He sat on the bench for weeks it seemed. If they just needed a warm body, then call up Wilcox to sit on the bench so Ullmark can continue his development with game action. Or sign somebody to backup CJ.
