I'm not sold on Ullmark he looks a lot like Lehner to me, gives up bad rebounds, over agressive. He didn't exactly dominate in the minors this year. Sounds like a nice guy tho. That said I hope they bring in a couple other veteran tendys.

I thought McCabe was playing really well just before he got hurt. I pencil him in the top 4, with Risto and Scandella. Risto and McCabe would make a very good 2nd pairing IMO. I'm comfortable with Scandella on the first pairing with TBD. That said, I'd consider moving Risto if the right deal came along. He's not exactly a great fit in this system, he just doesn't have the skating ability and his passing is questionable. Swap Guhle into the 2nd pairing with McCabe, and Scandella with some stud who can QB the PP, and now you're talking. All top 4 guys can skate and move the puck. Let Bogo, Nelson, Beaulieu, etc... fill in the 3rd pairing.

I respectfully disagree. He put himself in a bad position by turning his back to F1. Sure, Hartnell should've laid off, but that play happens a dozen or more times a game and guys aren't stretchered off every time.

Probably in the minority, and yes it was a dirty hit, but Antipin needs to do a better job to protect himself there. If he keeps skating and doesn't turn his back to the play it's probably not even a penalty.

The guy played D1 at Western Michigan. These aren't some shleps they just randomly pick out of the crowd who play beer league... there's a tryout, they look at past experience, etc.. These guys can play.

A veteran leader wouldn't sugar coat it either. I'm sure he believes they have the talent to be better than their record shows, but at the end of the day, the standings don't lie. Maybe he wanted his teammates within earshot to hear him say it. He sounds like the only guy on the team that really hates losing... and that's a problem. (some color this as him being "emo", lol). Well guess what, hockey is an "emo"tional game... if you're not emotionally invested, then it shows on the ice.
