  1. Winning? I thought a palace of a locker room would seal the deal?
  2. After dinner, a nap and several hours to think about this. Some thoughts... 1. The Sabres needed scoring line centers...especially if they decide to trade Roy in the off-season. 2. Hodgson has low penalty minute and hit totals, but so does Brad Richards who everyone(including myself) was drueling over in the off-season. They key is for Darcy to find someone in the off-season who can play a two way physical game in the top 6(what we all wanted Stafford to be). 3. Kassian's lack of physical play both in Buffalo and in Rochester(from what has been reported) was disappointing to say the least. I have also read things previously that stated that Kassian wasn't even overly physical in the OHL(I am talking about body checking, not fighting). 4. Is Kassian a ticking time bomb or a kid who had a couple of ugly incidents in juniors? 5. The Sabres needed some top end skill in the forward ranks(especially center) and they got it. 6. I am not sure if Hodgson is more of a goal scorer than a playmaker, but his OHL totals were about 50/50 in terms of goals and assists. I am hoping he can become a playmaking center who can turn Vanek into a 50 goal scorer. 7. Kassian impressed me with his passing skills, and his ability to control the puck along the boards. Not much else, but the sample size is so small that it is hard to gauge what his upside is. Bottom line...I love this trade. I hate to give up Kassian, but the Sabres were in such dire straights for a scoring center who can play NOW that they had to give up something decent in return. The top 6/7 that will finish the season(Vanek, Pominville, Roy, Ennis, Leino, Hodgson & Stafford), cannot be the same come October. It is just too soft. It needs to change! Darcy needs at least one hard nosed winger to add to the mix.
  3. Cody Hodgson on my team. Championship here I come!!!! :)
  4. I don't see how. Kassian had top 6 potential. Foligno has bottom six potential....hopefully 3rd line. That said, I am letting this trade settle with me until this evening
  5. I am also on a Chipotle kick. The chicken or steak bowl is more bang for the buck than the burrito! All of a sudden, I am hungry.
  6. Holy cow! All of a sudden I don't feel so bad...and I also fall into the same middle class problem you stated above.
  7. Price of colleges...even SUNY if you factor in room and board.
  8. Despite having great goalie stats last week, I lost all 4 categories. Fast forward to this week...here we go again.
  9. I know a lot of references are made of players lighting it up in a contract year, but when you look at Staffords numbers for the last 3 years, is he not the all-time poster boy for this... 09-10 71gp 14g 20a 34p <<<<< NOT a CONTRACT YEAR 10-11 62gp 31g 21a 52p <<<<< CONTRACT YEAR 11-12 55gp 9g 17a 26 p <<<<< NOT A CONTRACT YEAR Get the F*** off my team and take that SGM Roy with you!
  10. When you don't drink coffee or tea, what else is there...something healthy like juice or water? :P
  11. I'm getting a bagel and a diet pepsi. What exactly is nasty about Tim Horton's? The popularity of the locations in WNY is off the charts.
  12. Go through the Tim Hortons drive-thru this morning. Total comes to $2.91. I give the cashier a $20. She gives me $17 back and goes to get my order. When she comes back, I ask for the rest of my change, and she gives me $.91. So the question is, does she not give a ######, or never made it past 3rd grade math?
  13. It sucks how long it takes yahoo to flag a player as being on "IR". Howard out 4-6 weeks & Hamonic out 2 weeks yet neither is listed as "IR". So you either play shorthanded or drop the injured player.
  14. My strategy of having only one goalie(a very good one who plays a lot) on my roster just backfired. Howard out maybe 4-6 weeks? Hurry back!
  15. Why did it take this long for Byron Brown to grow some balls and clear the Occupy Losers out of Niagara Square? http://www.wben.com/BREAKING--City-Police-Evict-Occupy-Buffalo/12162040
  16. Things that are awesome... 1. This winter! 2. On-line banking/bill-pay 3. iPhone 4s. I have been happy with my 3 yeard old standard cell phone w/full keyboard for texting until I got my daughter the 4s for Xmas. I want one! 4. Flat screen TV's...even though I never resolved by problem with pixalating picture on certain channels which is clearly a TWC issue. 5. Having great neighbors. Don't need to socialize with them, just knowing that they are not ###### is good enough for me. 6. Still having my parents around in their early 80's. 7. My daughter heading off to college next year...at least I think this will be awesome! That's enough!
  17. TWC = no agreement with the NFL Network(8 years running) TWC = no agreeement with MSG(right in the middle of the hockey season) TWC = recent rate increase Yeah...TWC isn't the problem. Next time you are in Buffalo, make at stop at Gino & Joe's in the Main Place Mall food court. Consistently good. Thin crust or thick crust! Not stupid at all.
  18. I didn't realize that this was a two week game! :wallbash:
  19. As opposed to the Bills who have NEVER won when it mattered? ;)
  20. Did you know that he Patriots franchise record is better than the Bills...not to mention 3 SB victories?
  21. Afternoon snack... Nutty Bar and a can of Diet Coke. That will more than offset the 40-60 minutes on the treadmill tonight.
  22. I want no part of Hemsky. Often unjured(look at his game totals for the last 3 years), will turn 29 over the summer, and a pending UFA. He should not be a part of a Sabres rebuild.
  23. Not sure. To be honest, I haven't made a trade all year, and I don't know what the going rate is. If I had to guess, a forward who can score 60-75 points(on the lower end, if they hit, fight, block shots or take faceoffs  ) would be a decent return.
