It rained like crazy! The concert was delayed until 8:45 (supposed to open the gates at 6:30) at which the opening act played, while it rained. The wife and I stayed in my truck until 9:00ish when the rain was almost over. We walked in, and as we approached our section, Thievery Corporation started up. They played until 10:15. Hard stop. No encore. Because concerts are supposed to be over by 10:00, but Artpark was allowed to extend it to 10:15. Disappointing night due to the rain. Even though TC played tight and sounded amazing. i saw them a few months back in Toronto and they played for 85-90 mins. That .... was a great show.

I think Drury is next in line to being the GM or president of the NYR. It’s his childhood favorite team. He is from Connecticut. His wife has family close to if not in that region. He doesn’t want to go anywhere. I’d bet he was asked if he wanted to speak to other teams because they asked about him, and Drury said “no not interested”, so he “allowed” NYR to block any interview. He wants to stay put. He’s exactly where he wants to be making great money doing it.

Meh .... I’m not at all worried about Mitts having a nice NHL career. For me, as long as he develops into a solid top 6 forward I’ll be happy. For me, he doesn’t need to pour in 70-80 points a year to like him. His draft position vs. expectations doesn't carry as much weight with me as some fans really weigh it. ?‍♂️

So let me get this straight… What’s always bothered you about RJ is the Buffalo fans love for him? No matter how hard some fans try to knock him down, the vast vast vast majority will always love RJ. Even with the mistakes he makes. It’s just not that big of a deal.

I would be surprised (not mad) if RK gave rookie VO extended first line duties. But hey, I’m open to trying many combos to see if something clicks and has chemistry ?‍♂️

According to Capfriendly... There’s only 5 teams out of 31 that have no one in the Buyout category. Of the teams that are buying out a player(s), The Sabres are one of the lowest hit with only Cody Hodgson on the books eating up $780K in cap space for another 3 years after this coming season. The worst for this coming season ... Carolina Hurricanes at 8.5 mil. Yikes!

I don’t like buyouts either. Hell we’re still paying Hodgson! Can you find and post a link to JB being “on record” saying he doesn’t like buyouts?

Maybe perhaps in a different environment and system, any player “weaknesses” will be minimized. Meh, at this point I hope most line combos are a possibility to try in the preseason and a handful of games in October.

Just to see if chemistry is there? I’m in no way saying to have that line carved in stone. And honestly I couldn’t care less one way or the other. New team, new coach, new system. Explain why you object to trying for a handful of games?

Agree. No goalie is “the answer” until the team in front of them are solid and deep. Then, as a team they should succeed. At this point, no goalie in our system is “the answer”. Hell, Binnington wasn’t the answer ... until he became one with a solid team and great coaching supporting him.
