  1. Hasek, LaFontaine, Drury Mario, Gretzky, P. Roy Tucker, C. Neil, Marchand, man I could go on and on ?
  2. Can’t that discussion be in the “around the NHL news” thread? Along with all the other “non-Sabres” news? https://www.sabrespace.com/community/topic/26828-nhl-summer-of-2-thousand-19/ IMO the less threads that discuss the exact same topic (to avoid clicking in several threads to discuss the same thing) the better. ?‍♂️
  3. I remember seeing the goo goo dolls when they opened up for punk rock bands at the River Rock Cafe in the late 80’s where the crowd was 150 people and Robbie sang most of the songs ?.
  4. Thievery Corporation in August Motion City Soundtrack in January re mosh pits ... I grew up in the punk rock/hardcore scene in the late 80’s/early/mid 90’s. There is definitely a difference between slam dancing, and mosh pits. Mosh pits started going downhill once the tough guy jocks thought it was hip to go to Green Day/Blink 182/Offspring concerts and tackle kids and clothesline them. I loved seeing the veteran punk rock hard-core kids gang up on the few jocks and beat the living shiiiiii out of them. The jocks would leave quite bloodied wondering what they did wrong ?
  5. My thoughts exactly. I’m sooo not worried about Mitts. Kid has too much talent to not develop and be a solid middle 6 contributor for years. Hopefully top 6.
  6. https://www.buzzfeed.com/pablovaldivia/people-helping-dogs awesome stories ...
  7. The one thing I would ask is ... TT sucks right? Sucks compared to what? Sucks compared to who? Sucks compared to your own expectations for a player his age, experience, development level etc ... i personally, rarely label a guy’s talent level who made the NHL with the “sucks” label. I think it’s too strong of a word unless it’s followed or preceded by a time qualifier. He sucks right now. Right now, he sucks. Of course there’s always exceptions like Zagrapan and Leino ?
  8. Glad to hear it! Hope it gives her many more years. Keep on her relentlessly about the cancer sticks.
  9. Correction ... Since being hired, JB has “remade” the roster every season. He’s gotten rid of and added 10 players his first offseason. 10 players his second off season. AND has strengthened the Amerks roster. Now you may not agree with the trades and acquisitions, but that’s different. JB has done a lot. He doesn’t sit on his hands (unless it’s during the season ?).
  10. We will own all the RHD’s muahahaha! JB will start shedding players over the next month.. you’ll see. Then it will be ... We own all the draft picks muahahahaha!
  11. Scouting Report There are always risky picks, but Jokiharju’s limitations in size and strength doesn’t mean he’ll never get big enough to handle an NHL workload. Two things this Finn does well are skate and handle the puck, but his defensive zone play was quite good considering he was a first-timer in North America. Don’t sleep on this kid — he seems to relish challenges when the spotlight shines brightest. Jokiharju is a power play quarterback who skates very well and connects with his stretch passes, but also shows he won’t back down from a challenge while battling in his own end. That doesn’t mean he’s physical — Jokiharju will never be confused with Brooks Orpik. But he’s a poised character who can handle a heavy forecheck and skate his way out of most jams. His shot is somewhat average but he has a quick release and isn’t afraid to throw it at the net. He was buried on Portland’s bottom pairing because of a numbers crunch, but the departure of Oilers prospect Caleb Jones to the WJC saw a huge spike in minutes and level of responsibility. Jokiharju can log a lot of ice time and play extended shifts without skipping a beat, and it didn’t take him long to adjust to the rough-and-tumble WHL style.
  12. You could have added a little context or explanation instead of taking a jab. Care to give your opinion on it?
  13. I need concrete work done (section of driveway and a walkway). i need a sump pump discharge line buried and ran about 40 feet with a bubbler at the curb. i have too many other projects on my plate to deal with those. if anyone knows someone who does that stuff (Buffalo area) message me their contact info. Thanks.
  14. The original comment about our 4th line (namely Zemgus) being good last season because they (only) played against 4th lines of other teams is 100% false. It just is. No 4th line in the NHL always plays against an opponents 4th line exclusively. Sure the strawman argument could be that all 4th lines mostly play against the “bottom 6” lines. But that’s not the claim made. The comment was made to dismiss or downplay the success and therefore importance of 4th lines and by extension Zemgus. Sure he can be replaced in a heartbeat by other options. But that’s not the point.
  15. I’ve been enjoying FTWD. Gonna binge watch Luther next week.
  16. Everyone is not expecting that. I personally never expect them to be used. In the current climate, offersheets are EA Sports/fantasy hockey land. It’s just so rare. As I’m sure you know.
  17. Sabres have acquired a few pieces over the last few weeks. Now be prepared for a few to be moved out.
  18. No. A select few vocal minority are angry. It just looks like more. I assure you, it’s not.
  19. Risto, Cozens, Nylander, 2021 2nd for MM.
