  1. I find it interesting that some (not directed at you @dudacek) diminish Casey’s accomplishments, pointing to time spent with Tuch and Skinner on his wings as the reason for his output. Is it just his longer than expected development curve that has soured folks on Casey? We should be pleased to have a player who can step into the 1C role and keep that line cruising along (from memory and eye test). Other than Cozens I can’t see anyone else on the roster able to do that.
  2. Exactly @LGR4GM. First, a 51% owner can not be forced out by the minority owners. And I would have to believe that Roth will be carefully vetting those 49% owners (IF that's the plan to divest part of the team). I mean, even if you believe a 49% stake can oust TP, why would Roth bring someone in with that mindset and, thus, put his own job in peril.
  3. This is going to be interesting/fun to watch. Assuming the Sabres top line stays intact for a few more years, there are 9 forward prospects for (counting on my fingers) 6 'middle of the lineup' positions. (5 if we assume Casey is in the middle 6). Of the 9 he rates 6 of them between elite and bubble top of the line up players. The middle six may look more like 2 second lines very soon.
  4. All of the things we're speculating/worrying about now could have happened prior to and without the dissolution of PSE. In the absence of those other business interests there is simply no need for a PSE to exist if it's down to only two teams (businesses). Could be a matter of overhead elimination. Could be a tax advantage (as @PerreaultForeverpointed out. This is a big nothing burger IMPO.
  5. Ironic that the Sabres' 12th best prospect, per Pronman, may be the player - not just prospect - most important to the team's success this coming season.
  6. Thanks for the explanation @Doohickie. And FTR, you did better than I in Thermo. I 'enjoyed' the class so much I took it a second time. 🙄
  7. OK, I'll admit it. I have no idea what any of this is. Clueless. Gives me flashbacks to sitting in Thermodynamics class in college. 😄
  8. What a great idea @PASabreFan . Particularly because of RJ’s reference to his ‘Beautiful Noise’ at the RJ Night celebration ceremony. He would have certainly been on board with that.
  9. I’m curious what you knowledgeable hockey guys think of Baker. I like his style/delivery and it seems to me that he really puts in the work to stay on top of things. How do you rate his evaluation skills ?
  10. Apparently that would make you one of only a few.
  11. Agreed. I had sex with Scarlett Johansson once. Well, not really. But I found her picture on the internet once and .... Kinda saying the the same thing, innit? 😆
  12. I don't know @That Aud Smell. It may be the same place with new owners that are pretty full of themselves. 😃 Edit: Google is just showing the one in NF as LaHacienda.
  13. I should have been more specific about my LaHacienda comment as its such a generic name. I was referring to the one on Pine Ave. in the Falls. Not even sure its still open. That whole section of town has hit the skids.
  14. KA just has to be careful not to block his pathway to Buffalo by having a more seasoned veteran on the roster. /s
  15. Hell, I can remember when I started visiting this board there were discussions about Girgs being on the LW with young Eichel. Now some are PO’d he was signed for a 4th line role. As you say, nice to see. VERY nice.
  16. Great points @Taro T. I was bored one night last week and watched the extended highlights of the Detroit game, curious about the 6 goals Levi gave up. What you describe was how a couple of the goals played out. Separately, that game represents the flip side of the small sample size argument re: Levi. Four of the goals he had no chance on. A PP goal where a Wing was left unattended at the back post. A redirect on the PP. The ‘doink goal’ that went off Power’s hip. Then Boosh’s perfect outlet pass to a Wing streaking into the slot then making a pass to an unattended (again) Wing at the post for a tap in. My point being those 4 goals in his 7 games inflates his GA average by over 0.5 per game.
  17. Great call on LaHacienda. When I was growing up it’s pizza was the best around and it wasn’t particularly close.
  18. Sammy’s was great back when I was in high school and college (not telling how many decades ago that was😀). They’ve ***** the bed long since.
  19. I’m wondering if, when he’s ready, we might see Benson on Cozen’s wing with Quinn. That line would be a b*tch to play against and can put up some points too. (JJP and Kulich are wingers together with a distributor in the middle).
  20. @JoeSchmoe In the Falls give Buzzy’s a try. It’s shortly after Pine avenue turns into NF Boulevard. Also try Gagsters in the Market area on Pine Avenue. One caveat though. Both used to ALWAYS be really good but on a couple visits in recent years each has ‘laid an egg’ one time. That never used to happen.
  21. Whether its 75% that won't make it or the 50% that @LGR4GMsuggests, that number can now be applied to 15 or so legitimate prospects vs. maybe a half dozen in years past. That's what is particularly encouraging for the future.
  22. There is some impressive young talent in this organization. And yes, I fully understand the probabilities of guys becoming NHL players who were selected across the various rounds. But I'm wondering if this scouting/analytics crew hasn't busted the curve in more than a few places. Particularly taking advantage of the lack of exposure for our Russian prospects during COVID.
  23. 15 team (~ half the league) no-trade list? Think there's a pretty good chance the Sabres are on it? He'd have to agree to waive. I still think he re-ups with Carolina tho.
  24. Negotiating tactic on the part of the Canes? Take our offer or we're trading you to the Sabres? (Granted, not as impactful as it would have been a couple years ago).
