  1. Meant to post this last night and I’m sure many saw it. Between the second and third periods Biz absolutely destroyed Mitch Marner for his play in the game and the series in general. Pointed to his salary and lack of compete. Leaf on Leaf crime. Hate to see it. (No, not really).
  2. Great write-up in the Athletic this morning about the Leafs-Bruins series. Talking about the roster makeups of each team and their respective viability in the regular season vs. the playoffs. KA needs to make a major course correction because the Sabres are showing signs of heading in the direction of the Leafs.
  3. I’ll be interested in seeing what the offense looks like this season. I imagine there are only so many changes that can be made on the fly in-season. Brady will have the whole off-season and training camp to implement his system and really put his stamp on the offense.
  4. That just can't be a real name. May possibly see another vet WR added (FA or trade) in June when Tre's $10M comes off the books.
  5. There's a part of me that hopes that doesn't happen. (The flocking, not the Sabres getting good. Obviously.)
  6. Can guys like Wahlberg and Östlund, and even Savioe, play in ROC next season?
  7. We’ve already entered the part of ‘draft season’ that I absolutely detest. ‘Draft Grades’ or ‘Winners and Losers’ written by the ‘draft experts’. The comparison is made between their evaluations and those of NFL teams. And when they match up the team is an A+ winner. When not, the team screwed up. Forget about the folly of evaluating player picks just hours after the draft. The hubris of these guys is unbelievable. They do not have the resources NFL teams do to gather all the necessary information. Just once I would like to see one of these guys to a self-evaluation using the actual teams’ selections as the measuring stick. ‘Mel Kiper gave himself a D+’. But that’s as likely as the hair growing back on my head. Lastly, it’s an inexact science. The hits and misses will become apparent in due time. But I will always favor the opinion of those with the most information in these conditions. Rant over. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. 😄
  8. How great would it be if he reached that potential? Is he a righty or lefty? (Asking for a friend).
  9. Josh is fond of guys who can catch the ball. An endearing quality for a WR.
  10. #narrativesdon’tdie
  11. Slow. Can’t separate. 15th best receiver in the draft. Yada, yada, yada. Usual stuff. Many actually like the pick. More hate it.
  12. There's one thing rarely mentioned about DeJean as a fit for the Bills. McD loves position flexibility in his secondary to disguise coverages. Think Micah Hyde in earlier years where he was a safety playing a M2M coverage role post-snap at times. Certainly not advocating he will be the pick at 33. But it wouldn't shock me. I'm also guessing/hoping BB will be active tonight. Can't see him going into tomorrow with all those picks in his pocket.
  13. Whenever I watch other teams play I always try to make comparisons to the Sabres. Last night the Bruins played essentially 19 minutes of the third period with a one goal lead. I'm pretty sure they iced the puck only twice. As much as I despise the Bruins (mostly because of where I live) they seem to very rarely make dumb mistakes. Again .... contrast.
  14. 4) Paul Hamilton asks three questions, thus causing the press conference to run 45 minutes longer than planned.
  15. Or maybe Lindy announces at his presser today that he's signed an extension that kicks in for the '26/27 season. 😄
  16. Here's my simple take on things, FWIW. Lindy would have gotten this year's team into the playoffs, but no further than the first round. The roster needs work to get beyond that point going forward.
  17. What an awful turnover. Sabres- like.
  18. I was always curious about what was said to make all those guys laugh when the picture was taken for that album cover. Great album BTW. (And does that make me old that I still call them albums regardless of when they were made?)
  19. I thought the exact same thing as I started listening. What I found funny was that the reporters could see he was ready to cut loose so they kept feeding him the same type questions until he did. Entertainment value aside, I would love to know how he addressed those top players who he felt were not competing enough.
  20. My wife and I started watching the TO-BOS game late in the first period. She, who knows even less about hockey than I, says “the Sabres don’t play anything like these teams do”. I love watching playoff hockey.
  21. I hope he comes back to clarify, but when he wrote ‘the guys’ I assumed he meant ‘the players’.
  22. Sorry to hear that @Brawndo. Hang tough. I’m sure you’ll land on your feet but hoping it doesn’t involve uprooting your family. I have a handful of clients in the medical profession- docs, PA’s, nurses. And we have discussions about the changes in the industry. I am fearful of the direction healthcare is headed in this country (USA).
  23. Shouldn’t have brought handedness into the comment though it may not matter to the org. It’s more a matter of play style for me. I’m certainly not the only one hoping for a more defensively oriented d-man in our top four. But the biggest reason for my post, and not written, was concern over the ability and/or wisdom to re-sign Byram and the resulting total investment in the D corp relative to the cap. He won’t be cheap.
