  1. Meanwhile, the Gordie Howe Bridge in Detroit is coming along just fine in terms of construction. Then again, will they raze the rickety and antiquated Ambassador Bridge once Gordie is completed?
  2. So I was trying to change lanes with my empty flatbed yesterday. Dude with oversized tires on his pickup truck with boat in tow totally ignored my signal. One of his kids looked up at me as I raised my left hand with the, “What the heck, dude?!” gesture. Even after I finally got over, I saw him weaving in and out of traffic and clearly going above posted speed limits. What an All-American dad…

  4. With Kane’s off-ice issues, no thanx!
  5. Was that the side effect of your recent colonoscopy?
  6. Using the Toronto Maple Leafs as a point of reference in a joke where anything goes wrong.
  7. Totally agree. Patitucci is very good at what he does. He can cover different genres if needed. I remember when I first heard about him playing for Chick Corea. Then I saw way back in the late eighties when he was credited with playing bass for Twila Paris. I was like, “what’s he doing playing for her?!” Then I came to find out a couple of years later that he’s an evangelical Christian. So, that made sense as to why he was in the studio to help record one of her albums. Speaking of basses, I just bought one a month ago. I’m looking forward to working on it and see what I can do in the coming months and years.
  8. He must have influenced successive generations in jazz. I’m not well versed in that genre, but John Patitucci is one of the biggest names in jazz bass today.
  9. I know it’s classical music, but Jean Sibelius was truly a gifted musician and composer. There’s a reason why I chose this specific recording. Sibelius was well aware of how Herbert von Karajan interpreted his compositions, and flat out said that he preferred von Karajan over anyone else in his time because “he’s the only one who truly understands me”.
  10. Nazem Kadri made history last night. First ever Muslim to win the Stanley Cup.
  11. He’s being viscerally roasted on SM: https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/corey-perry-stanley-cup-final-losses-lightning-nhl
  12. What scares me is that that was me several years ago. Sure, I may have mostly moved on from it, but it still hurts from time to time that I had actually dehumanized and demonized others in the process with my arrogant and “holier than thou” attitude.
  13. If it’s Sears, there isn’t much left to take.
  14. My apologies. It just appeared to me like there was some bickering going on that seemed to be out of place, and I misunderstood all of that.
  15. Well, yes and no. Teams keep hiring Lindy Ruff. SFAIK, no one will touch Ralph Krueger with a ten foot pole.
  16. Give it time. Cammi Granato may find herself behind the Kraken bench someday.
  17. You sure that Ron Jeremy didn’t stand in for Auston Matthews? Or did that one blow right by you?
  18. I just couldn’t understand why fellow forum members were biting each others’ heads off.
  19. Ok, let’s bring some civility back into this. What’s the latest? Is she getting better? Same? Worse?
  20. This is bugging the tar out of me: where is the Australian Outfront?
  21. Agreed - especially if the goal (no pun intended) is to break the playoff drought. Much like Herb Brooks being the last man cut from the 1960 squad for Squaw Valley.
