Totally agree. Patitucci is very good at what he does. He can cover different genres if needed. I remember when I first heard about him playing for Chick Corea. Then I saw way back in the late eighties when he was credited with playing bass for Twila Paris. I was like, “what’s he doing playing for her?!” Then I came to find out a couple of years later that he’s an evangelical Christian. So, that made sense as to why he was in the studio to help record one of her albums. Speaking of basses, I just bought one a month ago. I’m looking forward to working on it and see what I can do in the coming months and years.

He must have influenced successive generations in jazz. I’m not well versed in that genre, but John Patitucci is one of the biggest names in jazz bass today.

I know it’s classical music, but Jean Sibelius was truly a gifted musician and composer. There’s a reason why I chose this specific recording. Sibelius was well aware of how Herbert von Karajan interpreted his compositions, and flat out said that he preferred von Karajan over anyone else in his time because “he’s the only one who truly understands me”.

Agreed - especially if the goal (no pun intended) is to break the playoff drought. Much like Herb Brooks being the last man cut from the 1960 squad for Squaw Valley.

He may want to come back, but KA and DG may not think that he’s a good fit - especially with how things started to gel in the last 2 months of the regular season and with a blue line corps that is already getting better now that Power Play is in the lineup.

We can only hope. Sad thing is that he’s already damaged goods, so there’s no way he’ll get another HC gig in the NHL. Kinda like Kay Stephenson and Rex Ryan. As for available HCs, if no one else has brought him up, what about Mike Babcock?
