  1. Driving around this morning and I heard that. He also said they are going to have to find a college quarter back in the late first round or second round because this team is good enough not to be picking in the top ten.
  2. I think their fate is in the hands of GMTM. If Murray says good hockey people we need them around, they stay. or Maybe Russ keeps one around as an advisor for all things hockey/player/coach related. He has an independent voice that can give him his knowledge as to how the team is progressing. Patrick is a perfect candidate as he has no motivation to unseat gm or coach. Just his personal view of how things are being managed hockey wise. Russ will see to the business side.
  3. Same as our booze laws, from the 1860's. We have to be the only state were liquor costs more than NY. No internet sales and no transporting.
  4. You have a Henry? Been wanting one in the worst way, not even sure why. Browning, Ruger, Wichester, CZ, Mossberg, Savage. So many to choose from, and I am very partial to Browning, but that Henry just hits a spot in my Christmas Story, Red Rider BB gun heart of I gotta have.
  5. Buy it!!! It's an easy enough call, even saying this I know I never thought I would walk into Wal-Mart for 3 years and never even see a box of 22's. Still the cheapest fun for the money though. A good 22 and scope are good for a life time. I have my Dad's that he used on his Uncles' farm in Batavia. I think he spent 20 some dollars for it in the 50's ( no scope). 60 years from now you'll hope your man hood is still as functional and fun as your 22 and the 400 bucks will be chump change as it will take 10 times that to buy a replacement 22. Heck, you're already regretting the lose of the Ruger!
  6. The flip to this is that a good goalie is often times had in late round pick ups. Using a 1st is a waste of the 50/50 chance on every other position, so your argument has more merit for every other position except goalie and especially a goalie with a head injury. The *certain commodity* is the not entirely truth full in this case with a total of 86 NHL games played, he ranks as certain of a commodity as Zadorov and Grigorenko . Nobody missed it. No angst, just not as assured of a reasonable outcome as GMTM other moves.
  7. Thank you for that. I guess the pumpkinseed was what I always called a *sunfish* and always threw back, but rock bass a bluegill where *keepers*. Now I know they are all keepers.
  8. All true, but you forgot the cost. Was the goaltender worth a first and taking on an overpriced aging player? We have only to trust in GMTM's judgment, because from the outside looking in this trade looks the most costly for the return.
  9. How much difference is there between a sunfish, rock bass, and a bluegill ?
  10. Sounds like a 2 weeks notice to your employer was done by Battista. He'll get his job back at Penn State and the Sabres will wish him well and thank him for his time and efforts while with them and all will end well.
  11. My dad did the same thing with his lawnmowers, my brother and I. After 21 years of being the lawnmower, we where gone in minutes cause we knew the old man would be out with the baseball bat in hand yelling.... GOT OFF MY LAWN! not even close to a true story.
  12. Agree 100% Thai curry also has a more pleasing aroma over Indian curry.
  13. Well then, congratulations is in order to Shrader for his ability to swoop into Boston, marry the girl of his dreams, and beat feet out of Boston before their second Anniversary. Job well done!
  14. That's a double whammy, when you go visit THE M-I-L you also have to go to Boston.
  15. Steven is one of my favorites. If you can grill desert you will rule supreme in my book. My favorite all time desert.. http://bbqu.net/season3/309_4.html#blueberry_crumble I made this camping in the middle of no-where on a Q series from Weber. There was non left to be had with cowboy coffee come morning. Spread your wings grill masters and learn to love the sweetness...
  16. I would love for him to come back. He has quite the personality so why not a little between the benches reporting with Rob, maybe a substitute color guy in the press box?
  17. It is fine on a tablet and just frustrating on a lap top. Not every software package was meant to be on a touch screen, so they turn into a hybrid mouse left click right click touch screen gymnastics. This can all be cured if I wanted to buy all the software all over again. Even AOL is hybrid, you can touch the screen for New Mail, but to delete I have to mouse over the little box, left click, then left click on delete.
  18. Please be the guinea pig and let us know your thoughts, I'm in the exact same boat. I second this motion. It's good to know that all though I am a bull headed, stubborn, crotchety old fart, my disdain for 8.1 is not just because it is so different than XP but that it truly sucks.
  19. Can't remember who the attorneys are but if you are Eleven... That's the best advice an attorney has ever given me.
  20. Penn and Teller, I think it's called Can you Fool Us. Tuesdays at 8pm on the CW.
  21. I actually thought they where a Fox Sports local station, but no matter same theory. ROOT sports does a good job covering SW PA sports. They cover U of Pitt sports (WNY's UB), WVU (WNY version of Syracuse?), Penguins, Steelers, Buc's. They show Duquesne University (like Canisius) basketball . They have a show dedicated to the Steelers, plus pre and post game shows with high lights. If that is your model R Egg, a very well chosen one.
  22. Great article and thanks for sharing. I'd like to try one so I will put on the B-day/Christmas list.
  23. He is a great insurance policy for a team that needs depth and experience. I going to assume that GMTM knows him as a person also and must feel his personality/leadership/work ethic will be on par with Gionta and Gorges.
  24. Eithers fine as long as the previous posts are adhered to, no metal brushes or stainless steel wool pads. Heat to burn of crud, or if cool a little Easy Off and a paper towel then rinse with water. Make sure to preheat the grill before cooking after using Easy Off to burn off any lingering cleaners. I took liberties and assumed a beer and high heat for a few minutes would be your choice, thus the chose wisely comment. Work, stealing cleaning products from under the sink and no beer to get a simple task done are usually frowned upon from those not from Nova Scotia. :nana: .
