I think this is a winnable game and we all need it, to temporarily put down the pitchforks. I hope Asplund makes an impact, I’ve liked him since his first WJHC. I am able to watch them play for the first time in four games, so I want to see effort. I will be watching two games at once, catching my son’s tournament game on another device. Let’s go Buffalo!

One of the things that annoys me with him and Dahlin is they seem to lack a sense of urgency. Their calmness can be an asset at times but they are too relaxed for important moments.

Yeah, I find that drop pass too predictable and dependant on the one guy. It can be one option but they need to mix it up. Even dump and chase can work if you have speed and aggressive forecheckers hounding the puck.

I’m all for it but it needs to lead to an 8-10 team European division of the NHL. Each North American team would travel to Europe once a season for a 2-3 week stint to play all of the Euro teams. Euro teams come over twice a year. Playoff system would see three teams from NA advance and the Euro champ, to have a final four. Stanley Cup becomes a Global hockey prize. Just don’t ask me to figure out the logistics.

Went to see Sudbury play last week. Byfield is very good. I found him to be very fast for a big guy. He played PP and PK and checked well in his own end. He is the best player on his team and one of the best in the OHL at 17.

Bounce back game, be the ball.... Go out there and give a hundred and ten percent, work hard both ways, hope to get a few bounces and finish the night with a W. End the Isles streak, shut the critics up and get on that plane with some confidence. Get Dahlin some home cooking and have some family reunions for our Euros. Let’s go Buffalo!
