It was the Heritage Classic, an all Canadian team game, held every once in a while. I guess it’s not promoted in the US. The networks are not interested. It was a good game. Interesting locale, Mosaic stadium, football stadium in Regina Saskatchewan nearly halfway between Winnipeg and Calgary.

Cozens with 17 pts in 13 games while Pekar has 20 pts in 13 games. Alexis Lafreniere is leading the QMJHL in scoring with 36 pts in 15 games, not bad for a 17 year old. Quinton Byfield is doing the same in the OHL with 29 in 15.

McCabe’s post game interview was good. Kept the cliches to a minimum and spoke intelligently.

A lot of high shots hit Linus up high, probably has a few dings on his mask.

Here in Leafland, the Emergency Medical Services would have to double their resources. Half of their Stanley Cup parade floats have already been built.

If the Sabres are in the playoff hunt and Scandella is still playing well, I keep him for the playoff run. How much would he bring back? Does he push another team over the top, making the team regret the trade? The team chemistry could be permanently disrupted. If Pilut or Gilmour could play at Scandella’s current level it could happen but we know how important depth is in a playoff run.
