COVID has led to fewer eyeballs on him this season, which is a good thing. Hope there is a bidding war between a few teams. In the best on best tournaments Canada often fields 8+ centres for the 12 forwards. The Sabres have some Dmen in the pipeline but picking one up especially if they acquire extra picks would be good too.

First thing that pops into my mind is Messier going to the Canucks, as captain, and missing the playoffs for three straight seasons. They weren’t plugs though, Mogilny, Bure, Naslund, Linden, Jovanovski...

Yeah, it’s not like baseball, where getting top talent at a few positions can create a top team. Those guys only need to mesh a bit for defence, and even that is pretty straightforward.
