Asplund has been playing well. Looks good on the wing with Mitts. This guy was drafted as a C and could be 4C or even a 3C option down the road if needed.

I doubt they move Knight but they also have Devon Levi as a prospect goalie. He was the #1 for Canada at the WJHC. They have some goalie depth which is why they may let Driedger go as well. Bob’s contract is next to impossible to move.

For what it is worth, I want them to keep Sam. Previous management let his contract slide but if he wants to stay KA needs to sign him.

I want to keep Ullmark but have a serious upgrade to Toker. We need someone in the 1B category who can challenge Linus and not miss a beat when he’s out. UPL may be that guy in a couple of years but they need someone for about two years.

Sam was drafted as a centre after having a lot of success at that position in junior. He has not been given a fair shot at it at the NHL level. He is a good playmaker and positionally smart enough to be effective as a 2C. Having enough talented wingers for him and Jack will be an important off season move or two. Let Cozens and Mitts battle it out for 3C with the loser playing wing. Lazar is a competent 4C and we have a semblance of a centre spine.

I am no Rutherford fan but the guy has won 3 of the last 15 Cups with two different organizations. I think he has a better hockey mind than all of the combined Pegulas.

I would prefer seeing R2.

I view him as Cirelli light. He put up some good numbers in junior and decent stats in the AHL. From Oakville, not too far from Buffalo. I take a stab at him.

This list has Goalie Ben Gaudreau as a first rounder (29). He is a local kid that I’ve watched play minor hockey. Pretty good G at the junior level. Someone to look at if the Sabres have a few 2nd round picks.

Button has some good info but this is a big list to try and organize. He has Rossi at 30 even though he has battled COVID-19 and only played one game. Abruzzese, a Leafs guy is 67th and hasn’t played a game this season. Leafs bias to get more eyeballs on his story.
