I know no one uses offer sheets but how about Sorokin from the Isles? He’s not a top level guy that would cost a lot of draft capital and he is way better than what we have. Yes the hopium is kicking in.

Something could shake loose from Dallas. They have Bishop, Khudobin, Holtby and Oettinger. Bishop has had injury issues and may not be ready for Oct. Khudobin is a solid 1B that took them to the finals last year. Holtby has declined but is an NHL goalie. Oettinger is their goalie of the future and may be ready now.

I agree these are three solid goaltending prospects. Between these three there should be one NHLer. My hope is that we get a 1A & 1B tandem that backs the Sabres for quite a few years.

It must be love of the game and the chance to mentor someone and give back to the game. His wife battled cancer a few years back so I would think he would want more quality time with his family. Another motivator for guys this age is to have their kids watch them play.

I am no analytics guy but they should trade a LHD to Seattle for Borgen to get a better balance. Add some grit to the D as well.

He also had leadership ability which will help in this position. Interesting to see if he likes this, does a good job and moves up the ladder.

I voted yes not because I have any insight or gut feelings on it. I just want this to end, I am tired of the drama. I’ve enjoyed his talent but he wasn’t my favourite Sabre and he definitely was not ready for the Captaincy so get rid of him please.

Lots of people praise Risto for his grit but there was never any chance he would drop the gloves. This guy won’t win many fights but will force opponents to be accountable.

Could Oettinger be pried out of Dallas? Young up and comer looking for a break. .911 Sv % last season. Bishop out all year so Khudobin is the starter and they signed Holtby. This kid looks like their future #1 but are they blocking him?

Need a better goalie in a trade or as a cap dump. Cap dump C might help as well but I wouldn’t want to be tied long term to a Duchesne or Johansen type.

Hope he doesn’t lose his love of the game by November, he’s all they have.
