Then I will be shocked. -

Traded within the next 6 months, book it. -
Who should the Sabres target for a veteran defensemen?
Rasmus_ replied to SHAAAUGHT!!!'s topic in The Aud Club
No thanks. I'd rather sign someone on a fringe 1 year prove me deal, than use draft capitol on someone that isn't a fit past a season or two at most. -
I like the Schmaltz idea. It's creative, he can play multiple positions and under 25. It depends on the ask, but something around Ristolainen and would be ideal.

Needs to be moved. It's time to move on from Ristolainen, and to some degree Zemgus Girgensons. -

Borowiecki is perfect for the bottom six. He's nasty, should come in under $4,000,000, and you can sign him on a relatively low term 2 years per say. Gustafsson, is perfect for an upgrade to the second pair and still in his mid twenties (27 turning 28). He's also Swedish which further insulates Dahlin. He's strong in both zones and is looking to test UFA. Merrill/Forbort, play a similar game to Borowiecki and would add a solid upgrade on the bottom pairing. TRADE - who knows. Move one of the excess: Montour / Miller for a young cost controlled NHL ready talent and a pick depending on "who". Gustafsson is the biggest UFA that I considered, as he's coming off of a dip in production and possibly could see this team as somewhere he could fit in nicely. I see Dillon going to a contender or staying in Washington, if they move out a contract. -
These are my tiers, based on personal preference. Rossi / Lundell Raymond Sanderson Jarvis / Quinn / Holtz

Trade any of the following - The defense has holes, the only defenders I would definitely keep are Dahlin, Jokiharju Carter Hutton, G Brandon Montour, RHD Colin Miller, RHD Jake McCabe, LHD Rasmus Ristolainen, RHD Kyle Okposo, RW Tage Thompson, RW Zemgus Girgensons, LW Thank god their going for real - Sobotka, Hunwick, Frolik, Vesey Depending on the market (maybe re-sign) - Wayne Simmonds, RW Re-sign please - Johan Larsson, C/LW

This is a bunch of crap. That's all 😄

He's an interesting forward, just depends on $ and term.

Curtis Lazar Signs Two Year Extension with Sabres
Rasmus_ replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Like the player, and I like that the term is exactly what it needed to be. Extended since he played hard, but not showing him more than his role on the team. Solid signing. I like the little things Lazar brings to the table. You also need to reward low level signings that bring stabilizing elements to the roster. -
My question is how you're getting them to swallow half of the contract, and getting Haula to agree to something that minimal. Now I understand you're probably basing this on COVID killing the UFA market, which is completely possible.
-
That's what people said last year and it didn't. He still hasn't put it together and got injured - again. He'll be traded in a year's time for a minimal return. He has the skill and the size, just not the brain on the ice.
-
With Staal here for at least this upcoming season, I would definitely love to get Copp in to lessen the strain on Cozens that much more. Copp, also has been used as a somewhat useful RW option as well.
-
***** Phil Kessel! He offers little to nothing. His goal scoring was non-existent once he left Malkin's security. He's overrated, overpaid and isn't someone that even gives his all in the offseason. But, who knows with Buffalo any terrible decision is possible. (See: Kim Pegula as president of hockey ops.)
-
Jesper Fast, looks like last years Joonas Donskoi. Someone that adds depth and an okay not great option.
-
This team is crap. That's all.
-
Granlund has not been the same player that he was in Minnesota. He's going to be an interesting target, but he's more of a LW, than a center. IMO.
-
He's a slightly better Galchenyuk. He has major holes in his game, is not a two way forward, adds additional inability to play two way hockey, doesn't draw well, isn't a true center, and is coming off a TERRIBLE season. Oh and not to mention he's going to need a new contract. Call me cynical on giving all of that a 5-6 year deal over 5M per season. PASS. Just what the Sabres need another soft, and he's also bitched about his playing time in two cities. I didn't like Tie Domi, and I definitely do not favor Max. Stay out of Buffalo.

Sabres Announce GM Jason Botterill has been Fired. Kevyn Adams Named GM
Rasmus_ replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
With the Pegula's who knows, they could have this glorified puppet in for the next 5 years and we're suffering. I know that the Pegula's do not want to lose like we have been. Just see with the Beane/McDermott group, they hardly get involved. Can you please STAY OUT OF OUR HOCKEY OPS DEPARTMENT. -
No thanks. Firstly, I'm pretty sure that Letang has at least a limited no trade. Secondly: Age and concern over health. Thirdly: we need a competent second line center. I'm not sure adding more cap on the back end is a wise investment.
-
Meh - Pass. I'd rather have Lundell or Raymond than Holtz. I've watched more, and Holtz has HUGE bust potential. Shrugs, it's a complete crap shoot. We'll either get a "Cozens" or a "Mittlestadt", where one looks legitimate and the other is a mixed bag still figuring it out.
-
Anderson. Fits a need, and physical. I will still continue to state, that Domi is a TERRIBLE FIT. He's as much a center as Johnansson is. I think Anderson is more realistically available at a realistic piece(s).
-
He's definitely improved, but I still think he's soft on the wall and it's definitely the weaker side of his game. Skinner, and Olofsson are definitely less inclined for sure. This is all opinion based. I'm not a fan of Domi, I have never been.
