I would expect so. Keeping their model in tune, at least for the next few seasons to say the least.
-
John Chayka out as GM of Arizona. He took a non-hockey related job, it looks like after he was given permission to interview with said venture.
-
So basically the best options n here in my opinion are Rakell, Kapanen, Virtanen, Kerfoot. However, I do not see a deal with Toronto happening unless they are that severely cap strapped. I for one have little interest in much of the rest: See: Kessel, Bjugstad (hasn't been the same since his injuries in Florida), Stepan (unless the ask is super cheap), or Leddy.
-
I look forward to the added element for next season. So who's the early bet on who we'll lose?
-
I think it will be fun. Either way, at least there will be a new aspect for hockey to look at next year. Potentially one more player to get rid of off of this roster. Bai, Colin Miller ?
-
It makes perfect sense to me. I am a Canucks secondary fan otherwise, I'd start rooting for them. Either way, the expansion draft will be fun. Leave Skinner exposed ? - not likely due to a no trade.

One question Wook, why on earth Darren Helm?

SabreSpace Trade Proposal: Cozens and 8th for Cirelli
Rasmus_ replied to sweetlou's topic in The Aud Club
Johnson's value continues to fall each season. He's at the age 30 season, and even at 5M, I'd rather go another route entirely. Just give me draft capital and then move on from there. -
Puke on the return for Ristolainen. Again, what has Miles Wood ever done to show that he's much more than Vesey. PASS! Why are we trading Casey and Sam for a slightly better swedish version of Sam. He's more of a facilitating wing. Are we giving up Mittelstadt with him, for the AAV on his contract?
-
I personally see nothing in Stepan. I find him a rental at the deadline type of move. He's been terrible for the past 3-4 years. He's at best a Bozak type player. If you cannot get better, sure, but we had better not give up much of anything. Henrique is an "okay" option. I personally don't like the term left on his contract, as he's over 30. Bonino is fine for his spare year left. I love Copp.

Eichel and Reinhart are the main focal point of the offense with Olofsson just behind. That's contradictory to my point. At best McCabe is a 12-15 point defensemen. You can replace that easily. Trade him for picks, and get someone in that might bring something more.
-
When does 9 years of missing the playoffs, with the same players not become an issue. Change needs to happen....and while I don't even dislike McCabe that much, if you get a serviceable return, move on.
-
We've had him for going on 6-7 seasons, he isn't going to improve, he's replaceable and I think we can find his replacement at a million less. He's not anything special. This team needs to jettison certain players and try different things. Starting with players like McCabe and Ristolainen who have some value. It isn't working.
-
I believe that Pilut didn't get a real opportunity. I currently sit here seeing McCabe being a meat and potatoes defensemen who is basically a slightly better Weber (former Sabre). He's not really great at anything. I'm looking for change to make things better as quick as possible. There is nothing that we haven't seen in McCabe to think he'll get any better than this. I'm ready to move on.

SabreSpace Trade Proposal: Cozens and 8th for Cirelli
Rasmus_ replied to sweetlou's topic in The Aud Club
Woof, absolutely NOT. This is piss poor asset management. Cozens should not be included in any deal for a centermen. I like Cirelli, but he's proven that he is not worth a top 10 pick in a heavy draft class and a very high end forward. God, please no. Mittelstadt and #8, fine. This is just absurd. -
McCabe can go tomorrow. Pilut should have been his replacement, oh wait.
-
Hertl and Faksa for me fix a lot of problems. They're both responsible down the middle and can draw a face off. Hertl is still only 26, and yes I am aware of the injury concerns, but the talent is legitimate. Pass on: Domi, Turris, Nelson, Johansen, Ryan, Brassard. I like Gaudette, Tierney, Monahan, Cirelli, Hopkins, depending on the package. They all offer something different. Hertl and Faksa are guys I would love to have as our second and third line center's.
-
Vancouver and Tampa Bay for me. As Vancouver is my second team of course. I don't mind Colorado. I will never root for Carolina. Ugh. Sorry! I put Carolina right up there with Toronto, and Montreal as my least favorite teams. ? I can respect Carolina, but I won't root for them to win anything. First round exit please!

I wouldn't take Loui Eriksson, regardless of anything. Not interested in that. 12 million of Okposo and Eriksson, would eliminate our ability to re-sign Dahlin and Jokiharju within a year's time. I like Boeser, but we have two young defensemen that have a future on this team. If they want to swap Eriksson for Okposo sure, but not otherwise. We don't need 21 million tied up into wasted signings and an uncertainty in Skinner (for the moment). Ultimately, this is the spine of the roster with or without long term contracts. I've eliminated pending unrestricted free agents and trade candidates. I truly believe Ristolainen is gone this off season. Skinner/Olofsson-Eichel-Reinhart Olofsson-Cozens-_________/Kahun Kahun-________-_________ Girgensons-________-Thompson Dahlin-_______ _______-Jokiharju ________-_______ Ullmark Lekkonen

When and how did you become a fan? Age 10. Who is your all-time favourite Sabre and why? Alexandre Mogilny. Then slowly followed up by Thomas Vanek and Jason Pominville. Miro Satan, Briere, Campbell are there. Most exciting moments as a fan? Most frustrating? Making the Stanley Cup finals in 1999. Winning the Presidents trophy in 06-07. Missing out on McDavid. Losing to Carolina in the ECF. How would you improve the current team? Second line center, the owners selling the team. A president of hockey operations that isn't an owner.

I weigh Greenway as a better value and he's done useful things for Minnesota. Whereas, I'd love to keep Mittelstadt and see him develop, he could easily entice a team looking for different options.
-
I'm okay with Greenway and Staal for Mittelstadt, Johansson and Miller. I prefer to keep Montour for now.
-
I like Drysdale as well, and normally if he's the best player available, I say take him. Except, our system has more depth in upcoming defensemen than we do in forwards. Aside, from Cozens, we're lacking completely. If there was ever a time to take Lundell, Quinn, Holtz, Raymond, etcetera, it's here.
-
Give me Lundell or Raymond. Both are useful pieces for our continual perpetual uphill battle for the playoffs. Both have upside and have a two way nature to their game.
-
I just don't see Cirelli being moved by Tampa Bay, unless they get supremely desperate and cannot move someone else.
