  1. The back of the houses on my side of our street border a farm field. We and our neighbors put up fences in 1997. Never had any correspondence with the farmer. We just received letters from the lawyer of the estate of the farmer, who died and whose property went to his sons, that our fences are about 3 feet on their property and they want them moved. Odds are they want to sell the land for a housing development. Given that the lowest estimate to move the fence is $2000 per house, and that no claim was made in 18 years, we are going to consult an attorney about the NYS law of adverse possession. If you build on someone's property (which was not intentional in this case, we gave our property maps to the fence company when built), and they do not make a claim within 10 years, the law says you become the owner of the property. We still have the original receipt showing when the fence was built.
  2. Other than police, the military is the only occupation where there's a real possibility that people are going to try to kill you. Since most of us aren't volunteering to take that risk, I don't care what their motivation to join is, when happens these are the people running towards the danger while we're running away. I think that deserves some respect.
  3. I don't know if it's worship of the military branches as much as making sure we recognize and celebrate the individuals who volunteer to put their lives on the line for us, so they don't get treated like the Vietnam vets were. And in the end, if you don't like something the military is doing, the blame should be directed towards the civilian leadership who gives the orders.
  4. OKC moved to Bakersfield CA to be part of the new AHL Pacific division to cut travel and expenses, as they will be playing most games within division. Suprised that OKC didn't join the ECHL which has a team in Tulsa.
  5. American citizens should automatically be registered to vote when they turn 18. Then it should be up to the gov't to prove in court why a person should lose that right.
  6. Dick Cheney, Octomom, and Andy Dick.
  7. Turns out one of his goalies had bad eyesight. He told the goalie to get it checked, that he might have a cataract. The goalie replied, "No, I drive a Rincoln Continental".
  8. Las Vegas Pride; logo a pack of lions to tie into MGM. Purple with gold and black. Get it done.
  9. Murray was talking to Stan Bowman near end of draft. Maybe asking about Oduya. Does Chicago own his rights until July 1? Maybe sign and trade deal.
  10. Don't forget Moulson. Reinhart might start in Rochester.
  11. Sabres have traded Pat LaFontaine for Joe Sakic.
  12. I like GMTM's quote: "If you would have told me the last day we had the three 1st round picks before the Kane trade that on this day we’re getting Eichel, Kane and Lehner, I would have said you’re on mushrooms,” Murray said. “I would have said, ‘There’s no way that’s going to happen.'" In Tim I trust.
  13. I suppose technically you can have dignity in any situation, but it's probably tough to keep when you're whipped and in chains.
  14. I don't think it requires all states to allow same sex marriage, just that they recognize and grant rights to those who married in other states. One of the plaintiffs was a couple married in NYS, who then adopted a baby from Ohio, and Ohio wouldn't put both of their names on the birth certificate as parents, which has legal implications.
  15. Let's just hope his first words to GMTM aren't "I'm going back to college". That would be devistating after all the anticipation and the past season.
  16. Basically, it's a giant free trade deal between the U.S., Canada, and 10 countries in the Asia-Pacific region that's been under negotiation for nearly a decade. It's expected to eliminate tariffs on goods and services, tear down a host of non-tariff barriers, and standardize all sorts of labor and environmental regulations. The added bonus for the U.S. is that these countries will not be pulled into China's sphere of influence and sign separate deals with them that could shut off many of our export markets.
  17. I'm sitting on the beach at the South Jersey shore 20 feet from the Atlantic Ocean. Sunny and 75 with a nice ocean breeze.
  18. Not really. Talking about race is not a political statement unless particular political parties or governments have a pro or con policy on particular races. This is someone who probably has some mental issues who hates minorities for some reason. He didn't say anything about government policies or political goals.
  19. I'd agree it was a hate crime, but not a terrorist attack. I consider terrorist attacks those that are done to make a political statement against a country or government, such as the Oklahoma City and Boston bombings. Semantics, but that's what I think of when I hear " terrorist attack". What drastic changes do you recommend that would be agreed upon?
  20. Harrington wanted to ask more questions and asked why they were cutting it short, as they gave WGR an exclusive sit down a couple days ago. They asked about contract for Kaleta. "GMs are like women, we could change our minds tomorrow."
  21. Yes, but he won't be able to appear on it while running due to equal time rules. His kids will have to take over or maybe they bring in someone like Piers Morgan.
  22. That didn't take long... http://edition.cnn.com/2015/06/16/politics/donald-trump-2016-neil-young-song/index.html
  23. Usually they have to get approval or pay to use songs. Springsteen made the Reagan campaign stop using Born in the USA.
  24. They could have an alumni member of the winning team accompany the commissioner to reduce the booing. Like Gil Perreault when the Sabres win. As for skating with the Cup, they used to skate around the rink as a group and hand it off as they skated around. I preferred that to the current standing around. But they'd have to get all the media out of the way.
